Depressing Reading........
#1
I have been planning to buy a Scoob for ages, and am (maybe was!) about to order myself a new WRX. However, it seems that pretty extreme measures are required to keep it! Is it really as bad as this forum makes out? Seems that every day you don't get your house broken into for the keys, or get hauled from your car at traffic lights is a bonus! I've owned a number of (relatively) high performance Japanese cars in the past (Corolla GT Coupe, Mazda 323 4x4 Turbo, Nissan Sunny GTI etc.), but I've never come across a car with such a theft stigna associated with it as the scooby.....
Perhaps I'll buy a Golf R32 instead!

You are probably only reading the bad news stories because nobody would post "My cars still here this morning"
Get one and enjoy - insurance is there in case it gets nicked !
Thieves will nick owt these days, it's not limited to Scoobs, and theres a good chance a R32 will be on their list along side many other cars.
Chris.
Double locked and alarmed garage ( linked to house alarm), steering lock, gearbox lock, cat 1 alarm , tracker etc etc etc.....

True, I'm only reading the bad stuff. Find the prospect of the car being nicked with my wife at the wheel and my 11 month old son in the back a bit alarming though (no pun intended).
WRT your security - must take you half the secure/unsecure the car every time you want to use it ;-)
I am considering Trackstar + Blackjax + Disclok. Hopefully, this is enough!

Try and keep things in perspective. There's quite a few members on here.
Blackjax, diskloc and cat 1 are a wise choice. If you're still feeling a little paranoid then you could go for some security film on the side glass.
Edited...see post below.
