My STi7 is going in a couple of months, and was wondering what I need to do regarding cancelling RAC Trackstar.

Can I just ring them up and cancel on the day or do I have to give them notice? I pay quarterly, so I dont really want to pay for a quarter I dont use.

Anyone done the same?

I think you have to give at least a weeks notice.

I had to do this for my car and don't learn by my mistake of just phoning them and them saying "oh yes that's fine, we'll cancel it for you".

Then when they took the yearly direct debit out of my account, I rung again to find out why and they said they needed it in writing and for me to cancel it with the bank.

So ring them the day after you've posted the "in writing" part telling them the plate of the car and the policy number (if you have one) and say you want to cancel it and if your not already, get on online banking and cancel the DD yourself - this bit they wouldn't do for me regardless.
