Question

Have a '02 WRX with standard alarm system. Parked up and went to lock car and the fob wouldn't work. Recent new batteries (couple of weeks ago and the light was illuminating when button pressed. Tried the spare and it works fine. I suspect the fob has gone out of sinc with the alarm and I will try re-training it.

Any ideas why, don't really want it happening when the missus has it!

I have now re-set the alarm to the key fobs supplied and both are working. This means that the one fob went out of sinc with the alarm. Does anyone know why this would happen?

I heard ages ago about code grabbing making the alarm ignore the grabbed code, is this true or a load of rubbish?

Any experts outhere??

I had the fob stop working on my MY01 - had to get recovered back home before I found out that was why the car was dead

I got the fob reset by the dealer - is there a way I could have done it myself?

I've just had the same problem with my Sigma M30! Got stuck outside the off licence on saturday night and had to get a cab home to get the manual (and the pin number for the keypad).

I had replaced the batteries earlier tha day (and the casing was screwed down tightly!) but wondered if the keyfobs had got out of "sync" with the alarm itself.

Can this happen, and if so, can I reprogramme the keyfobs myself?

I dont know why it happend but, it seems the alarm just did'nt recognise one of the fobs. I followed the procedure in the alarm book and reset both fobs to the car, you can set up to four fobs to the car at any time but need to do them all at once. If any of you need to know it and dont have the book let me know and I will type it out, its very easy!

Cheers

I tried to do the resetting last night, but with no success.
Looks like I need to get it sorted by a specialist
