As title really, am buying a 1998 R Impreza Sport. Anyone know the make and model of alarm / immobiliser it comes with, and whether it's insurance approved?
(I'm guessing it's a transponder key jobbie)

Mike, it is a factory fitted imobiliser. (iaw manual)
No additional alarm.
Immobiliser
must have insurance approval of some description.
Alarm
When obtaining a quote for me; they have never stipulated that an alarm has to be fitted, unlike to insure a turbo.
If you add an alarm yourself, i dont know if any insurers would nock much/if any off.
You can get some cheapish cat 1's for your own peace of mind.

You forget I'm living in Swansea - the car crime capital of Britain
According to the Tesco insurance website it needs an alarm/immobiliser to be insured, so just wondered if the existing one is on their list.

Well phoned Tesco today to arrange the transfer and they didn't mention it needing anything extra
Am having a Clifford Cat 1 fitted anyway for peace of mind, but at least it means I'm insured anyway.
