With car cime in general on the up & performance cars especially, I thought of investing in the DiscLok that covers the steering wheel completely. In idependent tests It took upto 17 Mins to comprimise & is Cat3 recognised & costs around 79 pounds. Will it help deter the thief or not.

They are the best steering wheel deterent , though you can drive a bit with it on . Much better than ones that don't cover the whole wheel as it's fairly easy to get some of them off! got mine from rsoc national day for £40 at the end of day !

 

Good bit of kit... but be careful taking it off... easy to bash your own car with the thing whilst putting it away

 

Agree with Silversmith my missus has butchered parts of the interior where she used to chuck it in the footwell,be careful.

its v.good but it's just a pain in the *** storing it.i have to put my one behind the seat and its a pain to do without hitting the console etc.........

Great bit of kit and a good visual deterent.

Ordered mine online and got a free storage bag. The bag has velcro strips on the back that stick to the carpet in the boot, will not budge no matter how hard you corner

I got mine off the net, put a search in for Disklok and came up with Motormec (01502 500590)who actually specialise in BMW parts, but sell the Diskloc for £65 inc vat & delivery.

I have one too, its just a little bit extra piece of mind and hopefully a deterent to some lowlifes.
On the Thatcham cat 3 thing, i was hoping i might get a discount on insurance using this, they are quick enough to add to the premium for mods!! .. but nope, they didn't recognise it!! ... i explained how it is a Thatcham cat 3 device ... stupid of me for asking really!!

 

It's one of the few Thatcham approved deterrents on the market. I've got one for the 300ZX and £80 is not much to spend if it means you keep your car.

I think that of all of the mechanical immobilisers this is the best but don't fool yourself into thinking that you car cannot be stolen.
