Question

I need to get a thatcham cat 1 alarm immobiliser fitted & have phoned all the local outfits in Aberdeen & have the following choices;

Cobra 7928 £314
Scorpion 1218T2 £299
Meta M99/M36-T2 £299
Clifford Concept 300 £440
Clifford Concept 500 £540
Clifford Concept 600 £690

Obviously the Clifford alarms are very popular however they seem to cost signicantly more.

Does anybody have any recommendations on the above ?

I had a Meta M36T fitted to my old car. No problems with it at all, very happy with it. (but nobody tried to steal the car anyway).

Got a clifford and no probs, allows extra's to be fitted, turbo timer, motion sensors and blackjax etc, costs extra but IMHO worth it m8.

Just had a Meta fitted to mine.
Very simple alarm, makes a noise when it goes off, repeater siren and very simple anti-hijack door locking mechanism.
No false alarms, simple operation, totally unlike my old clifford comeback 600

Got the scorpion fitted to mine with no problems ( a non turbo car) had scorpion on previous vehicle also with no problems. The quality of the installation job is as important as the alarm!

got the cobra and its great. The only fault to pick is the code entry, sometimes it doesnt accept first time.

Probably my fault though

Those clifford prices are VERY expensive! Ive seen Clifford 3003 installed for £320 from a dealer!
