I have a Cobra 7900 series alarm with no instructions, contacted Cobra who said they'd send some out but nothing has arrived. Really need to know how to turn off the arm/disarm beeps cos it's driving me bonkers!

If anyone has some instructions for either a 7900 series Cobra or failing that *any* cobra alarm could you give me a few pointers into the programming method so I can try it on my system.

Cheers

Hi m8
I've got the 7928 Cobra. On the instructions no mention is made of how to turn the beeps on or off. Does not beep on mine at all whether arming or disarming. Only when turning off the interior protection. Sounds like you need a cobra dealer/installer.

OK Thanks for having a look mate, instructions for this are proving to be very evasive! I know the beeps can be turned off cos they were off when I got the car, must have reverted to default settings when the battery was disconnected while I installed my amplifier.

Hi Paul
Just another thought. I got my alarm fitted by Skidz in Falkirk. Might be worthwhile phoning them & see if they know.

Worth a try.

Paul,

We're Cobra dealers, If it's the 7900 series and it beeps it's probably the 7908 or 7918. Disconnect the battery negative pole, then reconnect and press the remote button immediately, this should do the trick. The proper way is to put it into the program mode, using the pin code supplied but that's not recommended.

Cheers Nick, nice one mate! Took me a while to notice this one, but I've now sorted that one and am happy with the system again.

Will probably get it replaced sometime with something more up to date, but it does the job for now. BTW Do you know if this system is supposed to turn on the interior light on disarming? Mine doesn't but it might not be wired up properly. Also is it possible to make it auto-lock the doors when starting the engine?

Thanks again
