Hi all, new to the scooby scene and not owned a car worthy of a Tracker system before!!

I note there are many variations of Tracker services, I'm just wondering if any of these services allows one to view the location of the car on the via net link?

Don't think any of the serviced ones are (the ones that log that car has moved and call you etc) able to offer this. There are some other ones that SMS you when your car has been moved with coordinates and can be used to track online. Check out http://www.trakm8.com/ and http://www.pinpointers.com/. If you give trakm8 a call they can point you at how to do the real time mapping. Down side is of course you have to notify police which means if your away on holiday with mobile off..... Also spoke to friend in Police who wasn't sure how well the 'notify police' bit would work as you can't speak to patrol directly but have to go through one of their operators. Folks like RAC are known to police and therefore have better channels in. Pluses - Speed camera notification !

check out navtrak.com, the system I have works so that the car reports itself stolen so if the scumbags take it whilst I'm away, it sends an alert automatically, I can also check out my pride and joys location using my mobile phone, my car sends me a text msg with its location - its cool!
