Question

... if I park in line of sight and/or within about 300m of a police radio mast.

Picked my MY01 'bout 4 weeks back went to mate's house and the remote would'nt work. Changed the battery - no good, went and got the spare remote - no good, finally got it sorted using the key pad. Thought I'd done something stupid.... anyway phoned dealer (Beechdale, Derby) the next morning and was told that the emergency services had recently changed their frequncy and in some cases affected the Sigma alarms.

Have any of you guys 'n' gals had this trouble?

Thanx for that.
Do you reckon the dealer should sort this as the scoob is still under warranty?

Yup - no question. After all, the alarm is not fit for the purpose, if it can't be turned on/off satisfactorily.....

Make sure you have a note of your 4 digit code and disable the alarm from the keypad.

My MY00 was a nightmare when parked anywhere near an RF source. My MY02 STI seems to be immune.

Holding the fob up next to your chin works too apparently,
prolly some old wives tale cobblers, but worth a try I spose if desperate.

My clifford can be a PITA at times (Concept 50 with the old-type 5 button remote). New G4 systems are supposedly much better for remote range and don't seem to be affected by interference anywhere near as much.

Thumbs up

Just to update you guys. Beechdale (Derby) swapped out the Sigma's ICU last Saturday. Parked within spitting distance of a huge Police radio mast tonight. Problem seems to be solved.

Ditto I couldn't use my keyfob when parked on my driveway (nearish Derby).

One trip to Beechdale (Nottingham one for me ) and one Alarm ECU changed under warranty and everything is hunky dory.

Just make sure you all know your alarm keypad codes if you are heading to Donington....you might need them
