Sigma Alarm JDM Key and Boot
I have what I believe is a sigma alarm when I purchased the car it only came with one key fob.
I’d like another and I was wondering if I could get the sigma alarm button into a single fob and a jdm key.
also where do I find the code for the alarm
many thanks

First off a couple of things
1. Your car comes with TWO Immobiliser systems
The first is the OEM system that operates through the ECU and Security module.
It verifies that a key with a matching transponder fitted in it, is being used to start the car. If it doesn't see the correct transponder the car will not start.
2. The Sigma M30 alarm system was added on the vehicles arrival into the UK to gain Thatcham Cat 1 status. It also has immobiliser circuits.
Originally the Sigma alarm was operated from a separate fob
and the key had two buttons (and it's transponder).
For (i believe) the 2003 Impreza the Sigma alarm PCB was made to fit the key and its cover was replaced with a single button version.(still fitted with transponder).
What do you mean by a JDM Key?? One of these?
Early JDM models did not have the ECU immobiliser circuitry and hence no transponder chip in the key to check.
To use one you would need to compromise that circuit by fitting a "matched" transponder next to the ignition barrel, or for some security, taped to the key.

If you have a working key fob you can change the PIN code to suit
Keypad is in coin tray by drivers right knee.

If you do not know your PIN, or bought the car second hand (in which case the PIN may have been changed by the previous owner) you can change the PIN to one of your own choosing, using the keypad, provided that you have a working Radio Key.
Changing your PIN:
- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad: *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code)
- Arm the system with the Radio Key
- You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code
