The Rover dealer Morrisons in Camelon have just put up a Subaru sign, looks like a few of us will have a new dealer on our doorstep. There are a variety of new and used Scoobs in the forecourt and they have a sign up saying that a new building is going up by 2003 !!! Meanwhile they have a portacabin. Will check it out soon.

Talking

Had a quick word with David Macrea. A salesman at Drive. they are willing to work on Imported WRX's ect.. no problems I was told.

May be good to get real subaru parts on the car ( pity about the prices).

Hmmm......

I don't think Subaru UK will let them work on imports. They certainly won't supply import specific spare parts.

Maybe Drive don't know that yet!

When will Subaru get round to providing a new west coast dealer - in the past few years we have lost Clarkston Motor Co at Jordanhill & more recently Goudies at Paisley.
This leaves us with the small Eaglesham garage or the admittedly good S&S at Ayr
Anyone know of any new developments ?

Shug my friend, you don't know what you are missing, get in that lovely motor and drive through to Bonnie Falkirk and see oor Big Wheel (lol) its only a couple of miles away from the new dealership.
I even understand that John Boy Stevenson intends to be the first Scooby owner to attempt a drive through it hehehe.

Exclamation

I went in for an oil filter & sump plug washer last week and the guy demanded the chassis number and wanted to come out and view the car.....Problem, my car is WRX import from Japan. I have my m8's VIN plate noted in my wallet so I used to provide this number when I wanted to get parts from Fraser Anderson or Town & County. As I went to produce this piece of paper one of the other parts lads told the guy serving me to just get the guy his filter for f@ck sake, he's only wanting a filter & washer not a new engine........I had to laugh at this point. So it may be worth treading carefully.

Off the topic a little but Drive quoted me £100 plus vat to carry out 4 wheel alignment so I called SDM Toyota and they quoted me £47 for doing the same job using their laser alignment gear. So 4 wheel alignment is on our doorstep at a reasonable price too.

visit this dealership and ask for Derek McRae, really nice guy and pretty clued up on Scoobys. I had my car in for warranty work and they were absolutely 1st class even gave me a new courtesey car to use and I did not buy my car from them but I will buy my next one from them.

Give them a chance they are Brand New and we should support them of course they wont be as good as an old established Subaru dealer but they also wont have picked up the old habits either.

Hi Big Kev

They have GOT to service imports by European law but only the European ones. The Jap imports they do have a problem with.
Welcome to Scoobynet big man, hope to catch up with you at one of the meets.

Dave Allan

ps When you type like "THIS" its meant to suggest you are SHOUTING but we forgive a newbie lol.
