Noticed this car up for sale on Gumtree at what looks like a reasonable price, been up for a month now and did a check on the car today and the guy is the 5th owner and only had it since Nov off last year. says belt was changed at 65k and there is some sh with car.
worth a look at 3k ??

anyone know the car / owner ??

ring any bells with anyone ?? down here in Fife and would prefer if I could find out a bit more from anyone here about the car before possibly having a wasted journey !!

Never seen it about, by the sound of "WARRANTIES AVAILABLE" it will be a trader. So prob bought to sell at a profit. Makes you think what did he buy it for cause £3k is a good price. Pretty quick sell for a private if only got it in Nov. Engine bay looks a bit corroded, maybe a car kept close to coast?.
Id get it checked over for things rusting underneath. If thats looking ok and If gearbox and engine sound sweet, cant be much wrong.

Okay cheers guys as always appreciatte the info / advice given. to be honest a lot off the info in the advert had been copy /pasted, knew the guys english was not that good from the the wording off his emails !! sounds like the warranties available was just part off a copy / paste that was just not meant to be there !!!

and yep doug if you could possibly PM me the info you get back from him and I can then compare it see if they both compare !!!

 

First thing I would do is HPi the car .... would probably cost less than the petrol to go and view it!!

£3K for a UK300 is waaaaay too cheap .... I would say thats the price you would pay for a Cat C/D UK300? .... they usually sell for nearly double that??

In fact, just had a quick look at Pistonheads ....

75K miles - £6295 (dealer)
83K miles - £5250 (dealer)
26K miles - £6850 (private)
76K miles - £6200 (private .... although this one has two ads, another at £5500?)
42K miles - £5750 (private)
133K miles - £3695 (dealer)

Apart from the very high miler, there is nothing even close to £3K? .... definitely seems way too good to be true!!

 

Okay yep did think that and guy did say it was a good price but agread that cars off this age are just not fetching these prices anymore ( at last a truthful seller !! )

did HPI the car today and certainly nothing showing as untowards and checked out with what he was saying.

have asked on Aberdeen scoobies so hopefully somone may know the car / see it around or even have owned it at one stage and possibly be able to offer more info !!
