Can anyone help me with this one?
I quite fancy getting a leather interior for my MY00. I was thinking along the lines of alacantara and leather, and get the door cards done at the same time.
I dont know where to get this done. I have heard of a place called Transcal (I think thats right?). Has anyone else had their interior retrimed there? Also any pictures and prices? Anyone know of other companys that do this?
All help/information gratefully recieved,
Infinity

There's an old fell in Drumoak that does upholstery, can't for the life of me remember his name/ business name. He did some work on an old Lotus I had a few years back, very good indeed, and at a reasonable price. He won't entertain taking bits off your car though, so you'll have to strip it, take the bits to him then refit once he's done. Not much help I know but if you look up upholstery/ trimmers in the yellow pages, I'm sure he's the only one in Drumoak.

Probably too far for you but you could phone Baillies in Johnstone.
Quality of workmanship appears to be first class from feedback i get from various dealerships who use them.
May be wrong but i believe Transcal supply leather *kits* which is fine initially but depending on how well the kits have been fitted, the interior can look dated / bedraggled / worn within a few months.
Baillies reupholster each car individually, no kits.
They also strip the vehicle if necessary.
If you need a number i'll try and dig it out.

There is a guy here in Kingswells that does it (apparently!) but if that falls through there is a shop on Rosemount in the centre of town (he retrims sofa's full-time but my brother is getting his car trimmed by the guy (1997 Civic VTi) and the jobs he has done on cars before are first class! £750 all in and the leather is very, very good.

Thanks again!
Alan G If you could dig out that number I would be most greatful.
Wuz. In Kingswells Eh? That would be handy as the girlfriend lives out there. She lives at the top end of kingswells, around corse avenue area. That would be the ideal excuse not to do anything as I would not have a car
Is the guy in rosemount in the yellow pages? What type of scoob do you drive, as I am kingswells a lot of the time I will look out for you. We could meet up and go for a scoop at the four mile

It would be worth phoning your local dealer and asking who they use, as far as I'm aware, all scoobs come into the country with cloth, unless a special edition (Terzo...etc) It's the dealer that organises the leather once in the UK, either at the Subaru UK place down south or local to them. My UK98 was done somewhere near Stirling via Fraser Andersons (who are they I hear you ask??)
Transcal in Livingston are V.Good. I've seen some of their work and considered it for my Evo, but decided on spending the money on more horses instead Tel. 01506 440 111

Baillies no: 01505 335855 / 342015, fax: 01505 331112.
They use, i believe, Bridge of Weir leather but ask them anyway.
They've been in the trade for donkeys years.

I used a place in Kirkintiloch for mine in my MY00. Got it done in two tone with door panels and gaitor also. It was £1000 I believe these were the people that Fraser Anderson used to use. I just dropped car off and they did everything.
Its a good move if you like leather really transforms the inside of your car.

Thanks Again Lads
Thanks for the Baillies number Alan G
Scottish Menace have you got any pictures you could post? 1000 beer tokens was not a bad price for a two tone set up. Does the price vary on colours used? Do they use alacantara? Have you got a number or a web/e-mail address for the company in Kirkintiloch you used?

Thanks for that. Now I have a starting point
I was planning on stripping the interior myself anyway. The reason I am looking for a place in scotland is so that I can take the interior there myself. I work offshore so I was hoping to give the interior to the retrimmers before I leave and pick it up when I return home, or get it sent home while I am away. At least it would save me the inconvenienve of not being able to drive the car.
Anyone else got any ideas?
Thanks again
