AFR meter what's it mean?
#1
Was going down the Dawes controller route and got myself one of their wee AFR meters adjusted for the Subaru
Now when running WOT I'm getting wide range of lights with no real consistency. (No Dawes fitted)
Sometimes holds blue yellow or red (no green yet)
Now red is supposed to be well lean
Settings are figures recommended by John Banks and Darren Dawes has set up as prototype for the Impreza
RED set for .81V - .83V (~3-4%CO I think)
If you guys remember I am running standard apart from Magnex center and backbox!
Is the reading accurate? Is their a fault with the Lambda do da itself to give different reading on similar runs?
Would getting it checked with the select monitor answer where the problem is?
The other thing to enter in the equation is this is engine no. 2 for me. First one holed a piston. New engine pinked on RR at Star time before last!
Anyone any ideas ?

If you are running below 0.83 at WOT you could be looking for engine No 3 shortly Joking aside, I wouldn't be thrashing it if I was you.
Maybe your fuel pump or regulator is on its way out ?

Don't know if this is much use to you but the link manual lists the voltages as follows
VOLTAGE = %CO = A/F RATIO (approx)
< 0.6v = <1.0% = >15:1 (lean)
0.72v = 1.0% = 14:1
0.76v = 2.0%
0.80v = 3.0%
0.84v = 5.0% = 13:1
0.86v = 6.0% = 12:1
0.88v = 8.0%+ = 11:1 (rich)
So you need to know what the lights are set to before you can judge what's going on.
At WOT I get over 9%CO (>=0.9v), just on edge of boost on light throttle I get about 3-4% (I think!!)
