Question HELP WITH EXHAUST SYSTEM PLZ

Hi there guys and galls- this is prob an easy one but im new to scoobies.

I have recently bought a performance middle section and back box for my 02 wrx bug eye

here is the exhaust system that i have bought

01-06 Subaru Impreza 3" Catback Exhaust WRX STi 02 03 on eBay, also Exhaust Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Feb-08 21:55:43 GMT)

I have taken this to a garage to be fitted.
But i have been informed that the middle section does not fit my standard downpipe?
Just wondering if you guys can help me.
Just do not want to buy the wrong item.
Will i fail an mot with a de cat downpipe?
Do you know of what piece i will need to link my middle section and back box to my scoob?

Thanks

in what way dose it not fit? is the center section to long/to short??

any chance that the company has sold you a classic zost insted off a newage?

oh just had a thought..
not sure iff it the same with a newage but on the classics downpipe there is a donut gasket (type thing)
thats sits on the end off the downpipe (where the center connect).
iff thay have not seen this gasket then to them it would look like the center section is to small and will not sit flush against the downpipe. (the gasket is about 1" thick)

i know when i first got my car it had a HKS super drager on her. when i took it off and tryed to put a standard center section back on it would not fit as i did not have the donut gasket... the guy must have took it off when he fitted the HKS system as it was not needed........

its late at night and i hope that made at least a wee bit off sence lol

good luck mate

Question

Cheers for that pal, i think im gonna head up to falklands motor sports tomorrow morning and source out a magnex downpipe.

I think the garage said that the downpipe was to short to meet the 3" middle section and backbox.

I was recommended to buy a magnex downpipe.

Anybody know anywhere near glasgow that would have downpipes in stock?
Anywhere closer than fife?

cheers for your help fella

What he said.

This is a 3" system, your car has a 2.5" as standard so either replace the entire thing or stick it back on ebay chap. Could be an expensive lesson i'm afraid!

5t.
