Default Alloy wheel refurbishers - Help

I need to get my 18" alloys refurbished. Where is the best place I can get this done around aberdeenshire (I am in Longside)

I tried Turriff tyres, and they would be £300 all in. Is this about right ?

Please help

David

Coatech Surface Technologies in Carnoustie are worth a look, quoted me £200, will have job done in a day (apparently). My friend had her BMW alloys done there and I have to say they did a fantastic job. I know it's a bit away, but worth mentioning.

Dave

PS I have no connection to this company at all.

Thanks guys.

Carnoustie is a bit too far away though. I'll try and find out the name for the place in Inverurie.

I was fairly sure there were places in Aberdeen that did this ??

Anyone else had this done ??

Thanks

300 is quite expensive IMO. recoat in glasgow do them for 35 per wheel, 2 or 3 day service plus tyre refitting and balancing and its excellent quality work too, a fair bit away from you tho, but might be worth it to save the 160 quid tho

PPS have done two sets of wheels for me amongst various other parts. Always a pleasure to deal with and fantastic results.

Correct, i had to improvise a bit to straighten a wheel that had a flat spot and cracked rim. Turriff Tyres straightened the rim and then put me on to a chap in Aberdeen who welded up the crack. It took a fair bit of time and running around but was worth it to have the wheels i wanted.

Thanks for the help guys.....

here's what's happening :

Turriff tyres = £300 all in (including tyres on/off, balancing etc..)

Blasted alloys = around 45-50 a wheel. Wheels are blasted and then painted/laquered. no powder coating. Mobile van...done in a day

PPS = 45 + vat each wheel. Powder caoted, and laquered. guy sounded good. said they had planty to come and have a look at. Tyres to be removed, replaced + balanced at own cost.

I might try Turriff again, and see if I can get the price reduced at all. Like the idea of getting everything done at the same place.

I'll let you know what happens

If it helps Tawse Tyres is only a stones throw from PPS and they are quite happy to remove and store your tyres until PPS are done with the wheels. I did this with the first set i had done there.

if you are not in to much of a hurry fo then, try my dads place, we store the car while wheels are away if needed, the wheels go down south to get done, as we tried every company north of the border and none shaped up, all town n county wheels, bmw, merc and i thik specialist cars to, all go through us, usualy takes about 10-14 days, not sure on price its all dependent on wheels/damage ect, pop in for an estimate,
