A big Thank You to John for a superb day!

Look out for a picture special in the "Your Car" pullout from the Press and Journal Newspaper, a week on Tuesday.

PS. Put my name down for the next track day!

Cheers, Steve.

What a cracking day, nearly perfect scooby weather (a bit less wind would have been nice !!) and now I am no longer a track day virgin

Special thanks to John Stewart for great organisation and to Kevin of Falklands/KH instructor for showing me what to do, and for guiding me back to Glenrothes to pick up my lost sunglasses (left em in the waiting area yesterday )

Thumbs up

Charles,

Have you got that piccie you took of my car
(hope you have found your funnel ;-) ).

Big thanks to John Stewart - hard work that you put in was much appreciated.

It was a pity about the track etiquette of
some of the non Scoobie drivers (and I am not talking Elises here).

Cool

Some of you may have met Mike (TDi Driver)
who had come along to KH to buy my wheels....

Thanks to all those who made him welcome,
here is a copy of his "thank you" e-mail :

Dear Mr. Saint,

Just a wee note to say a HUGE thank you......

I've just fitted the wheels and so far have noted the crisper ride quality, which is no doubt down to less sidewall compliance, and the much improved turn-in with a reduction in the rubbery vagueness of the steering......ditto. They also look good!

The only downside is that each wheel weighs 5 pounds more than the original and I had to give you two hundred and fifty pounds for them.......{6?)>] I jest, of course....a good deal....and I'm more than happy. This is esecially true since when I removed the original rear wheels, I discovered that after 30K miles, the OE Contis would have needed replacing very soon anyway.

Even my missus is happy....although she's mightily pissed off that I had a ride in a Lotus 340R and she didn't. Every time she sees an Elise or a Exige on the road she emits a sigh and says....."I could play in that..."

Talking of which.......thank you very much for the initial suggestion that I should come along and blag the odd ride around the track. Except......I now really want a Lotus 340R!
Strange really.....I calibrated very quickly to his rate of progress and it stayed with me. I found myself doing 90 down the road away from Knockhill and it felt like walking pace. So, again a huge thanks to all the Scoobie drivers and others at KH.

I also enjoyed the other rides and it was very interesting making comparisons between your car and driving style of the other drivers, mant thanks to Charles.

If we all got together one day, I'm sure I could have you all heeling and toeing like pros by the end of it......

Slainte

Mike

ps Did I mention that I want a 340R.......
