We have the possibility of a track session Saturday 15th September (the day before Cameron House Hotel BBQ so a few of you will be up from down south anyway).

It will be an open pit lane from 9am to 1pm.

Cost will be about £60/£65 per car, for unlimited lap times.

We need 40 cars to cover our costs, and if we get more (absolute maximum of 50), then you’ll get some money back or some freebies like the last time.

However, I need to know by lunchtime tomorrow (it’s a late cancellation) if we’ll be able to get that many cars (I’m sure we will) so we can book the track.

Make that 3. I've been offshore for the last two track days and am GAGGING to get some time in at Knockhill.
E-mail is on its way John.

This event is now fully subscribed!!

If you haven't already sent me your booking form and cheque, or sent me an e-mail to say you why you haven't sent it yet (a few people on holiday), then I'm afraid you are going to have to go on the reserve list.

Demand for places was much greater than at previous events, and we had a few less places due to us taking over the slot from the Porsche Owners Club, who held onto some places as part of the deal.

I know some of you have posted your booking forms today (and informed me), so your place is still being held for a few days to allow the post to arrive. Any other booking forms that arrive will go onto the reserve list in
the order they reach me.

Cheers

John

Question

John,

Is there going to be a beginners session this time ??

This will be my first shot on track, and the big boys will bully me, and I will be scared, and might have to take my mum along for protection

I'd be happy to take any beginners round, either as a passenger in their cars or with them as passengers in mine (as long as they could put up with the relative comfort and civilisation of a Legacy ). I've been driving Knockhill for more than 25 years and I've done (and won) the race, rally and 4x4 schools. I don't pretend to be qualified or be as good as a Knockhill instructor, but I do know the lines and how to be safe on the track which is mostly what it's about.

All the best,
Brian

So far I only have two requests for a beginners session. With such a demand for track places, and almost all from owners who have done quite a few events I think a beginners session could be hard to justify.

We'll see how many people request it though, and we'll take it from there

John,
Keep posting on here if things change, please?
I'm not even in the position of safely going onto your reserve list yet, but I'd like to hear about it if any spaces come up.
Cheers

i don't really see what is the problem. there is only couple of areas for safe overtaking, home straight, back straight and just before clarks. if every one adheres with this there shouldn't be a problem really. the beginners or who ever is taking it easy should just move out the way of faster cars in these areas.
