A very good turn out. I believe there were in excess of 30 cars there, with 28 (I think?) actually taking part and running the rollers.

A big thanks to all who turned out and to Jim and the boys at Star.

If you could post your results below here...if you want to, so that everyone can see comparisons...etc....

Include model, year, mods, bhp and torque figures and anything you noticed was a-miss, good, bad, can be improved on...

Star are going to collate all the data and send to dyno@scoobynet

Evo6 GSR, de-cat, blitz induction, dump valve(atm) Best figures 334bhp and 299lb/ft. It certainly helped having some BIG gents weighing the car down for the 2nd run, to stop it lifting out the rollers. Big thanks to Taz!! It may have been more if I could have got Chris away from the burger van

Thanks.....John (Big Smiles )

My results were :-
250.5 BHP @6600rpm
225 lb-ft Torque @5230rpm
From a 94 WRX with only the middle anr rear exhaust changed.
As for your EVO6. You is a W**K*R.
But I`m not bitter. (HONEST)

Only kidding John, Good on you, ya happy bugger.

John,

Thanks for a good day out at star performance - well organised and a great turn out

Good to be able to put faces to names at last

Black Catalunya 97

178 BHP @ 5740 RPM
184 lb-ft Torque @ 3860 RPM

(ours is 7.5 psi should be 12-14 according to star).
Knew there was a problem before car was put on rollers but glad star performance have confirmed this so the dealer is sorting this out already

My dad's Red Standard Turbo 95

187.5 BHP @ 5020 RPM
213 lb-ft Torque @ 3890 RPM

(running too rich at the moment)

By the way that is one awesome sounding Evo V1 you have by the way Pity you couldnt compare to David's but maybe next time.

Many thanks to John for organising the day. Thanks also to Jim and the lads at Star, Jim really does seem to know his stuff.

I was there bright and early and had the first run of the day....
238BHP @ 6290RPM
231lbft @ 3280RPM
from a MY00, 7500 miles, K&N panel filter, Scoobysport de-cat centre section and Magnex back box. Car was running super unleaded with Millers octane booster.

John an excellent day thanks for organising it.

MY 2000 Turbo 6 months old 7800, miles with -
Superchip
Full de-cat Exhaust (Magnex rear)
K&N Panel Filter

My second run was best but not the one he printed off !!!

Power 247bhp @ 5920
Torque 269lbf-ft @ 3550

Expected slightly more bhp but was delighted with the torque. Despite all the negative comments about Superchips it makes all the difference especially at mid range.

Cheers to John & all @ Star Performance for another excellent day.
99MY UK Impreza
Falkland downpipe, De-Cat centre pipe, Magnex Backbox,Superchip,Collins Dump Valve,Mocal Oil Cooler,Subaru's AFM friendly airbox!!

248 bhp @ 5760 rpm
272 lb/ft torque @ 4230 rpm
Running 18psi Boost (4th Gear)

Compared to my last results, lost 15 bhp but gained 20 lb/ft of torque.Nice flat line @ 272 lb/ft from 3000 to 5000 rpm making the car feel quicker on the road.CO has also incresed from 10 to 12%, a bit on the rich side, this is thanks to the restrictive standard air box.
Happy with my results

Thanks for a great day out, really enjoyed myself.

My results were:

246 BHP achieved from a Grp A Mongoose Stainless Steel exhaust - well chuffed wtih that - couldn't stop smiling all the way home . The fella at Star said that mine was one of the smoothest on the rollers that he has seen and the graph just went straight up, no dips at all.

Special thanks go to John and Star Performance for the excellent day and Dougie+dee-dee for taking me up there!

I'll be back!

Question

Great Day out.

It seemed that for most of the early cars on their first run was the best. So here are mine

First Run

MY00, Magnex Back Box 227.5 BHP can't remember the rest didn't get that printed off

Second run

219 BHP
231 Lb/ft @ 2900

It would be interesting to see what all the MY00 put out! Bearing in mind that some people seem to think they are down on power.

Oh forgot the mileage 5500 m and its a Dutch import.

I ended up getting the print from my second run apparently it was lifting off the rollers , wasn`t as good as the first run, cheerz to all the lads 4 jumpin in to add weight for holding it on the rollers

94 WRX the low red jap job running 22psi, proof that Superchips rok, AP racing cerimetalic paddle clutch, HKS air intake, Blitz dump (as if u didn`t all know), HKS AFR, Apex supermegatone full SS system, Falkland downpipe, replacement gearbox
The paddle clutch made my drag really low.

Here`s the print of run 2, didn`t get a print of run 1....,
1st run peeked @ around 284bhp

Just to let you guys know, we are putting in some sort of ducting to take the fumes from the exhaust to the back door! So if you come again you'll not be smoked out!

Graph shows torque above 220 from 3200 to 5800
Modifications are KN induction and Magnex Backbox.Running on standard 95 RON juice.

posted my results on the other thread before this one got set up,then made a ***** up and sent results2 there, edited it,started typing results3 only for the power to go off so here goes, forth time lucky.
my00,pe t75 downpipe,magnex b/b,2700miles.
218.5bhp@5850rpm/232lb-ft@3350.
am i happy?well yes and no.happy that car is similar to most other my00,so at least there is nothing wrong with it.i have been lucky enough to drive a number of these cars and have found the my98/99 (r,s,t never driven v)to be quicker/more responsive than the later cars, the day did seem to show that most my00's are down on power compared to the my99's i saw.i was surprised not to have got slightly higher figures than a few of the other my00 with standard d/p's.both my runs gave the same figures,so possibly the d/p lets the car run slightly cooler.just glad i got the d/p for £50 otherwise i wuold have been really p155ed off.will change the centre next to see if that helps.either that or i will just have to brake later on track days or get a chip.

great day, thanks to those who organised it.
if i am not working i will take a run up to knockhill (weather depending-farmer),just wish that you did not have to book to go on track as i cannot guarantee i'll be there.

dougie hope you get your car sorted for the top marques days at knockhill, you will love what your car can do when haelthy.

anyone know what happened to sam?

Hi T-uk,

Wasn't there, but interested in the results... I have a MY00 and it's got better and better with more miles on it - now up to 18500 miles. You've only done 2700 miles, so the engine will still be tight. Wait until you get to 5-6k miles, then 10k miles, as it just keeps on getting better - then I'd expect to see better figures. I reckon that's why the MY99 cars were putting out more power - they've just done about 10-20k more miles than you!

T-uk
my figures were:
Norm power 238BHP
Engine output 231.5BHP
wheel output 147.5BHP
max power at 114mph or 6290rpm
max torque 231lbft at 59mph/3280rpm

as mentioned above, your car will improve greatly after a few mor thousand miles. I have now done just under 8k miles and the think the car is continually getting better.

hope this is of some help.

cheers lads,
i know the car will loosen off but surely not approx.20hp worth.for me the proof is in the driving, one of the earlier car i drove only had 1600m and felt far better then mine,as long as my car is similar to other my00's i'm not too worried.
hopefully the graphs will be accessible as chris's car seems to have been revved higher which is why i was interested in the power@wheels/approx.rpm,but then again i'm probably just jealous my car was 139@wheels @5500rpm approx, possibly if the car had been looser jim could have taken her higher,it would just be good to see where chris's car gubbed the other my00's.

john

dont't read that i am blaming jim for not revving harder,i have dealt with him for years (golf gti) days and he knows what he is doing.

John,
I must admit I was well chuffed with my results, Jim at Star did mention it did seem to be "a good one". My torque curve was also very good, quite flat etc.
Perhaps the super unleaded/octane booster makes a difference, perhaps the other exhuasts mods, who knows!

You are welcome to have a run in my car sometime (I'm not too far from Dundee/Perth), drop me an email if you like. Perhaps a few of the local lads could get together to compare cars.
