180.9 hp and 155.3 lb ft (pretty surprised its so low considering it can do 14.1@98 1/4 mile)

I'd say they are more realistic than low, as I made 180 hp @ star with just the R Sport ECU on it (which has been proved to give no peak hp gains) I bet if I got it re-done at star id be pushing nearer 190 hp now. It also makes a change as the operator guy (sorry don't know your name) talked you through how the system worked etc and also told you if the car was running rich/lean and they laminate your RR graph :-)

Hi guys....

Seemed like everyone ws getting good figures till i cursed the rollers...lol
Think Coulty managed 240..he`s as gutted as me.
KArt_mans P1 made 240bhp too..

Scoty...dunno who Jim is...is he not the guy at Star ?
This was Dastek.
Either way, no, he wouldn`t have known Steve mapped it.

For what its worth I reckon dastek are closer to the truth than many other rrs out there and even though it might seem depressing you have to agree that their setup is pretty much as good as you could ask for. Agian, for what its worth ...my standard Sti3 made 284bhp a while back so they were bang on for me.

Nope. HKS front mount.

Dunno...one thing though, it wouldn`t boost above 1.25bar.
Its supposed to me mapped for 1.4bar.

I think the rollers are pretty realistic, as are Star.

T-uk got about 304 IIRC (with FMIC, headers, TD05, decat, 550s, remap etc) he has had c.340 BHP at Star twice and mid 12s on the 1/4 mile at about 115mph IIRC, but his present backbox does restrict 10 BHP compared to his previous runs at Star.

Dave's std P1 was detting lightly and would have been retarded, 240 BHP is therefore not that surprising. Most P1s at Star seem to do about 10% more.

Remapped new shape WRX with decat did 250 ish, but was also detting and retarded.

Decat new shape WRX did 225.

Mine previously did 403 BHP and then did 434 BHP at Star in very similar spec.

Andy's did about 480 without the nitrous and about 550 with, he got about 10.8 quarter mile at Ten of the Best.

Compare with the same rollers on the same day.

i see what your saying there john, but still pretty taken aback by coultys there for instance. pretty much should only have a uk turbo engine with decat and dawes to do a 240brake run then, no?

Standard M3 was spot on at 320 and Wrxmanias car gave an accurate reading also.

I don't know any of the later figures for the new age vehicles.

Star before 3" exhaust and STI Panel Filter was 245.7 BHP, 225 Torque.

Dastek after exhaust and filter was 235 BHP and 219 Torque.

Probably equates to 250 BHP at Star?!?I think if I am not wrong John Banks, Andy F etc said this was what should be expected from my car with these mods.

Lots of people disappointed and Dastek did say they were going to check their rollers against some benchmarks.

Can't say I am too bothered either way - I am not tuning it - and it still goes well and sounds the business!!

Brian

Think? Noones car is specced exactly the same.

So when someones running same Turbo as you.you get disappointed if you get lower figures.
However the whole package has to be looked at.

Right from Air intake to exhaust via turbo/intercoolerwith mapping, type of engine/cams
Fuel system and fuel.Taken into account.

Once folks have been a few times and know what's changed on their car they can then see what works and what doesn't.

Depends what you want to acheive with what car. Some will respond better to tuning than others.

Did you have youre car mapped for new filter /exhaust Bri?

Most of which has been documented.

I lost a bit from my star results as jb has said but I am not bothered as comparing with other cars on the day , it did okay. I was expecting a loss anyway after fitting a quieter, more restrictive back box which also resulted in needing a few degrees ignition removed around peak power.

my boost did near enough what it does on the road and the knocklink was happy during the run , which is the main thing in this hotter weather. dasteks cooling is excellent imo , but I did wonder if the rolling road room , would get a bit hot as the cars where tested but this was not an issue. I was interested to hear that andy f's highly tuned tmic car , only showed a gain of a few degree intake temps over what a run though the gear on the road would show.

I would suggest people do not try and compare one set of roller results with another as you will never know which roads are correct , if all you want is big pub figures then do not go to either star or dastek imo.

I agree that the strong point about these rollers is the repeatability, to do 2 runs within less than 1% of each other makes them a great tuning tool.
Not sure why the flywheel figures should appear to be IRO 10% lower than Star for example, which in turn is a further 10% lower than some of the Southern rolling roads ?
Power at wheels seems in line with the other rollers.
As mentioned previously though, you shouldn't compare different days/ different rollers and expect to come up with any comparative data.
Scoty, who is jim/jimmy ? It's Gerry at Dastek.

Andy, do you still have the ap22?

We could have a day at yours by the seaside and you would be the one having all the fun!!!

Dastek guys were letting some of the cars run in that little hot room for ages without the fans on. What's that all about? And they could have had everyone done quicker than they did.

Maybe I'm just used to Jim's goldmine conveyor belt at Star!!!
