Get yourself booked into the Top Marques nite on August 10th 6-8pm. Usually good events with all the usual suspects. Myself and a few others from the MLR will be pussyfooting around it that nite

Quality track day, thanks again John S!
Dougster, hope you get the steering tank sorted and the gravel rash off your car
I pat my shants when you went rural off the track in front of me but well controlled.
Oh, and you win the suntan competition hands down!

OK still work in progress so you all are my beta testers
Made a very simple web site, still to link large photos to the thumbnails etc but I will have it all done by this eve. Web site is http://www.sga.dsl.pipex.com/kh1.htm
I think I got the majority of cars on track.

How awesome was that Tuscan? Nice to see the boy in the Ferarri getting his wings clipped.
Meant to say, we worked out we did about 70 laps between us. Probably explains the dead brakes...

Yep, had a great day out. The car was handling very well with the new wheels.
Dougster, your gonna have to come with me next time in a passenger lap and show me how to take that hairpin in the wet like you do. Awsome mate. (I have a nice clip if you taking the hairpin side on)
A lot of nice cars out there. It was very nice to see a 22B out there getting treated like it should. Nice RB5 too. The TVR was mentally quick.
Thanks to the lads at SIDC for another quality day out.
Also got a few good clips of Cal. If you want me to e-mail them then let me know mate.

Great pics Spooks - 2 of mine
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~nelsdir/Hairpin%202.wmv 15Mb
Shot about 5mins at the hairpin. Not particularly exciting and only 2 Scoobs out - black WRX and Dougster.
Quality not great either - only had the camera 1 week and it was a bit breezy but you'll get the idea!!! 100% size in Meadia Player and it's not bad.
Hope I didn't hold anyone up 'cos it was my first time out!!
Cheers,
Neil

Cal, no! brakes are cooked, Im going to have to get new discs and pads on the front.
More than likely go for drilled and grooved numbers. Thats what I get for throwing the car about on standard fourpots! Good to meet you at last!

You don't need a high pressure fuel pump and regulator to help fuel surge, you need lots of fuel in the tank or a swirl pot/surge tank.
The problem is the positioning of the fuel pickup in the tank - out the hairpin the fuel is mainly sitting in the opposite side of the tank to the pickup which runs the pump dry.
A fuel pressure gauge will tell you it is happening a short while before the car complains majorly. You can get a little bit of detonation from this so it is worth avoiding repeatedly over many track days.
Some uprated fuel pumps can even make the situation worse if you use the supplied pick up that comes with them which is sometimes shorter.
How much fuel did you have when it was surging?

Couldn't make this one, McRae rally.
Think it's only the second or third one I've missed since 1998 or so.
Tony, my JDM STi still gets fuel pick up problems - so it's not just UK models. You'll just need to try harder.
Anyway I take extra fuel with me and top up when the tank gets to 1/4 left.
