Just copped (pardon the pun)my 1st £60 donation and 3 points in 11years of driving tonite.The incident happened on the Great Western Road heading for Balloch,just after the speed camera but as you would have it about 100 yards before the 50 sign.The police concerned were pretty cool about it but the lasting memory i will have will be as i nearly missed them was of the officer with the speed gun running almost to the middle lane left arm waving furriously to eventually grab my attention.......42 in a 30 itsa fair cop guv.

Should have run him over then if they caught you said u saw some mad mad running infront of your car in the middle of the road so thought it was a car jacking....

i was 47 in the 30 abz aswell great southern rd basically if ur driving in aberdeen do not speed if the street name has "great' b4 it cos it's not great payin shi**y fines and getting points!

worst thing is after recieving the fine i thought i better go and pay it so i drove down to the court to pay it and phone rings so i answer it next thing blue lights ****. the usual bla bla but they took pity after finding where i was on my way to and let me off.

I got done in Edinburgh last month. 39 in a 30!!! The usual donation of £60 and in return i get 3 points!!!!
Just to pi$$ me off even more, 3 mins after they had left, a transit came round the corner with the wheels SCREECHING he was going that fast!!!!! And where was PC Plod??? Back at the station haveing coffee and doughnuts of course!!!!

I had asked them if they had cought the *****$ that had stolen my car last year!! Think that made matters worse!!! Us drivers get it in the kneck like.

got my insurance renewal through and thought id better let them know i got an sp30 in november " thatl be an extra £196 please" (elephant) needless to say im lookin around for another quote

Blimey, that's pretty nasty. I must have driven that road several thousand times in the last 5 years, and never seen the like.

The fixed camera you mention was the source of my only personal SP30 in 1999.... the famous "Keal Avenue" Gatso!!!!

It's one of only two Gatsos I reguraly drive past in the whole of Scotland which have been active every single time I have passed them in the last 5 years.... (i.e. never been left without film)
The other one is the one on the A9 in the 50 limit around the Ballinluig junction.

(I know this becuase of a friend who has driven the same routes as me over the last 5 years, but he has a Bel 550 )

Bad luck mate....... but respect for taking it on the chin rather than whining for all eternity....

noel, try Liverpool Victoria for insurance.

Probably steer clear of ADRIAN Flux for now, their quotes are starting at £1200 just now for some reason. I spoke to them yesterday for a quote and nearly fainted when they told me, as when I spoke to them last yr, they were talking about £650!!!!
