Exclamation Silver EVO smashed ..........:D

........... just had a phone call from a friend telling me a silver EVO Yreg, smashed into the back of a wait for it .............................. Fiat Punto down strathclyde park & the driver of the Evo has abandoned ship ie leaving the cars & ofski on his two heels

I for one am disgusted at this act from a member of the dark side

ps i know its not stolen as the same chap has been seen in it the last few weeks

And me & him went for it the other nite

I hope this isnt what all Evo owners are like & i wish the Punto driver a speedy recovery of his CHAVmobile

An all for one Scooby owner

How do you know its not stolen? - the coppers rarely pull you unless you've got burberry tinted windows or italic burberry number plates nowadays.

Put it like this - you smack your Impreza up a Punto - would you leave it to the mongrels? 2nd thoughts - Strathy park on a sunday night?? Aye, I'd be off as well

As an ex-punto owner, I am deeply saddened by this event. Though a Mitsubishi Punto EVO 1.1 does have a chavvy ring to it though

Actually think I've seen this car, and it did look rather tasty - infact a black one as well ....may just be same car only dirty

Maybe he was driving along with his 'top bird' tonight - she tells him shes a transexual (ala that man/woman thingy on BB5!), he thumps into poor Punto in a state of total shock as has just told his mates hes royally boffed her. Horrified! He runs off, clutching his manhood, into the motherwell night air.

Maybe I have to vivid an imagination

Wonder if he'd sell me that exhaust??

I was thru' there last weekend to feed the ducks with the wee man. There has definetly been a ned population explosion in that area.

look like he was trying to get airborne over the speedbumps and not figured for windsheer!!

also the driver and passenger of the punto were taken to wishaw general, unsure on their condition but apparently not serious. you may not like the punto but it's not a nice thing to happen, especially when the driver runs off. from what i had heard it was stolen, but who knows. more than likely uninsured, if it was his own car why else would you run off and leave your evo?

Fair enough.

I just put an STi style spoiler on the back of my '03 WRX on Friday, i'm already noticing the burbery brigade paying closer attention as i drive around.

I drove through stewarton last night, and as i got into the town and black EVO 7 pulled in in front of me, then a Silver classic turbo passed the other way. The local neds were dropping the El-D bottles in excitement as we drove by. On the way out the town the EVO stretched it's legs a bit but sadly the co-pilot (wife) was not interested in seeing if i could hang on behind him so he got away :-(

Anyway, this has gone well off topic now, so bye!

Sadly insurance probs mean that i've had to leave everything but the spoiler, side skirts and gear **** as standard so i can't make too much of a racket, although, coming through the west end at night does get a good bit of sound bouncing of the tenements ;-)

If only tesco would let me get PPP'd :-(

Yeah, well the renewal is coming up in august and i'll be looking about. I've been told L&V are meant to be good but the fact that im 26 means that the couple of times i've called them they won't quote me for an '03 WRX. Apparently they will quote on a modded classic though, wierd eh?

I keep hearing about these different companies that are meant to be cheap but cannot get a decent quote except from tesco, who are absolutely mental as soon as you want to make any mods.

no danger!

I don't think they would even quote me at the time.
I have a G11 postcode that doesn't help me, mind you.

from what i had heard it was stolen, but who knows.
It's really hard to tell nowadays as I think the power of Internet has made these ***** a bit more clever.

You see, people like to post the pictures of their pride & joy (like an EVO) on the net to show everyone on the planet what their car looks like. And on most occasions, people tend to leave their number plates on show.

This is a gold mine for these burnberry dumplings as they can now steal, say an EVO, and stick a plate on it that is legit. This means, the cops will be looking for a stolen EVO but won't be looking for a stolen EVO on legit plates as they won't know any better. I think this is called "cloning".

That's why I always make sure that whenever I'mposting pictures of my car onto the net, I take the plates off.

I suppose I can be 100% wrong and there must be another reason for the guy running off, hot curry maybe?, but I've seen this happen and it's not nice.

Cheers

Gordon Shek

The Evo shown in the picture is a 5, these where manufactured between 1998 and the start of 1999, which makes it impossible to be on a Y plate

My intuitive 'ned-style-mind' says thats its a not the real number plate. Good points by Gordon on the plates idea - I'm waiting to get sti-04's plate, then I'll stick in the trader for atleast 15K more If its a newer plate my 94 will go for a packet Some ned will fall for it

I'm amazed if its nicked that someone didnt pick up on the car - i.e. tracker , police, other black evo owner?

I go for the BB5 reason, or the exploding curry idea for leaving the scene of the crime.

BUT, it's been a parallel import registered here when it's a few years old, then the local licensing offices can do funky things. For instance, there's a '96 Scooby knocking about the NE of Scotland with a SV51 plate, beside the wife's old flat (when she was a student) there was a MY97 on an S plate. So it's not impossible that it's a Evo V on a Y plate.

There were also a lot of E5's left unregistered and new in Japan, which were brought across when the 6's had been out for a year or so. I remember Warrender getting a few in.
