Provisional KH Dates 2004
#1
Got some provisional dates for the SIDC events at Knockhill in 2004. All Saturday mornings again:
20th March (9am - 1pm)
29th May (9am - 1pm)
24th July (9am - 1pm) *this date may change*
11th September (9am - 1pm)
I've not had prices confirmed from Knockhill yet, but they will hopefully be very similar to last year. As soon as we've got the dates and prices confirmed, then we'll get them put up into the on-line club shop.
Best Regards
John

John, i'm definitely home for the first two, home for the 3rd provided the date doesn't change but away for the 4th.
Itching to get back out after the track-day school.
At least my rota offers some compensation for not allowing me to almost any of the Aberdeen meets.

Ill be at as many as possible. Great to get back out on the track. And test the new scoob, thats if it ever arrives.
Carl were u at the 1st track day school?
I was at the 1st track day school and found i learned just as much at an sidc track day. Found it quite frustrating that after spending a good while learning about racing lines. It got to the free time, the fun bit, and half the class just drove around the middle of the circuit. I know everyone should just enjoy themselves on the track and go at their own pace. No one seemend interested in letting faster drivers through, sometimes it was quite the opposite. One thing that was really pushed at the sidc briefing and worked really well.

I attended the first one also. I agree the 'blurb' to begin with became a touch tedious but it was all good info, whether you'd already heard it before or not.
My biggest gripe was that the free track time was cut a little short by the rolling Focus.
Having no experience of driving on an SIDC day i cannot compare the levels of driving etiquette although i'd expect the more experienced SIDC attendees to be at a much higher level.
I certainly tried to keep my slow *** out of the way of the faster drivers.

What were u driving that day mate? Was it one of the blue sti's? I was in the red bug eye, soon to be replaced by a my03prodrive.
Focus did put a damper on things and someone also went off on the 1st corner causing a delay. think we only got about 15 mins on the track. Suppose thats motorsport though
You will find the sidc days a lot more rewarding. Pace is much faster but everyone seems to have their heads screwed on. There is also a lot more track time and some really fast cars/drivers. Think u are going fast untill someone in a radical appears from nowhere. Then dissapears just as quickly

Yeah, i attended most of the SIDC days last year. My lack of experience kind of held me back from going out though. Looking forward to things this year though now i know the basics and have done a couple of laps myself.
I was in the white Classic.

Nice car.
Sure you will enjoy the track days this year. Must admit i was a bit apprehensive on my 1st track day. Think the school will give u a bit more confidence for the track.
You did not get any pics of the red bug eye wrx by any chance?

Scott, it was a friend of mine that took that picture. I'll have a wee rake through the rest of them to see if your car was caught anywhere.
EDIT: Looking through the pics i just found these two shots. I remember letting you past me on the back straight now.

John should make first one. Working the middle two. Last one is always the same date as Leuchars air show. May have to miss the airshow for the third year in a row and do the track day thing again.
