Your car in a video game ?

I'm be working on a popular driving/racing game for next gen. consoles.
We'll be using a synthesis system to create the engine sounds, rather than using large samples of engines - which I've done before on the F1 games, and Shox.
I'll still be needing some recordings of engine sounds. These DO NOT have to be under stress. I'll need a couple of different revs ranges, with the engine in neutral. Nice and easy on the car. The synthesis system will do the rest of the work for me
So, is there anyone up for having their performance vehicle recorded? I'll probably close mic both the exhaust and induction, and will have to find a nice quiet area to do this. Likely venue would be Knockhill, just in case anyone wants to let rip, with a miked up car.
I can guarentee your name in the credits as at "thanks to". Can't guarentee anything else at this stage, as the game hasn't even been signed off by the distributers/producers.
Just really putting feelers out, at this stage. Please visit www.gamesounds.co.uk if you want to check whether I'm kosher or not,
I can post more details a) if there's any interest, b) if the game is signed off c) subject to NDA - non disclosure agreements.
Cheers,
Mark.

Actually, at the moment I live in Brighton, but, as long as the game goes through submission with the publisher, I'll be moving to Dundee.
Are for cars, at this stage, haven't put too much thought into it. I'm thinking V8's, NA's, Turbos, Superchargers etc. Obviously RB5's, cos they're my fav!
The thing is, oddly enough, I won't need over the top sounds - at least not for this project, as we're going to simulate that in software...

My modified RX-7 available is you want a rotary powerplant in the game, if you want a standard one I dare say I could convince one one of the other guys (same goes for just about any car you're after).

I"m in music production.I"m also a member of the classic car club................and I"ve always thought of sampling their cars........a great selection of engine sounds. They have a NSX-T that just sounds great.I"m sure the guys at the Edinburgh franchise would be glad to let u sample their car sounds(p.s. they have a lovely sounding AC COBRA too).
I think their web site is www.ccc.co.uk.
If I were u I"d call them.......I"m sure the angle of free advertising would appeal to them.........and I"m sure u"d find an engine tone u where after.
U could alway get in contact with somewhere like AWD.They"ll always have some nice cars at their workshop............I"m sure they wouldn't mind some free advertising either.

I regularly travel between Glasgow & Aberdeen so Dundee suits me fine ( or Knockhill)
I have a Civic Type R ( you'd never guess from my name eh). It is obviously naturally aspirated with 6 speed box + induction kit + "straight through" custom Magnex exhaust which sounds like this
http://type-r-scotland.com/files/cal.wmv (small movie)
It sounds FANTASTIC when letting rip without being too extreme....oh and of course it revs cleanly to 8.5 k with the VTEC engine..........perfect for a computer game
Cheers

This is great stuff everyone. Many thanks.
Once/if/hopefully things are moving, I'll start working out what I'll need etc.
Looks like I could cover nearly everything from just Scoobynet.
But... is anyone a big lorry/bus driver? *grin*

If you reply, can you make sure you put what vehicle you have? Makes things a little easier for me.
Cars that are going to blow up, accepted too! They'll have their own "unique qualities"

when u pick it up - i'll come through with you - stopping off at awd?
there were reports of some showboat driving late last night at the shell discovery station car park - reports of a white lancer doughnutting and powersliding wich drew a large post club crowd, enthralled by the balletic car.
now u can join the flock!
madfiddeller: u should come to the next dundee cruise - be some nice sounds there

Rockstar are based in Edinburgh. They are also looking for a sound designer, mind you.
David Jones does have a company in Dundee, can't remember the name of it though. It's pretty new I believe.
