DID YOU KNOW THAT THE ENGINE IN THAT CAR WAS BUILT BY A W D Motorsport Well done good power we're well chuffed (BUT) REMEMBER DON'T PUSH IT TOO HARD AND BEND ANOTHER ROD SAM

engine built was by agra engineering at dundee to my spec that no one else apart from me actually knows. installed by awd but that is different stroy that we are not going to get into just yet.
the history of my pervious engine is confidential and is not something for this board to discuss. i am totally aware of the limits of my engine as i was of my previous one.

i am sure that grant is totally aware of the fact that the engine was built by agra ( professional engine builders). AWD just installed it as in taken it off, giving it to me to give to agra then i brought it back built. awd put the assembled head over the fully assembled and balanced block and fitted into the car.
so they did not actually build the engine, just an install i am sure that is what he meant.

grant is the owner and I think runs the office side of things while dave brown does the workshop. I am not sure how hands on grant is so perhaps he just made a mistake with the comment of the build.
sam,
so did you spec and choose the whole conversion?, I had assumed it was a kit that you had bought. respect if you did as the scooby scene has some so called specialists that can't even get this right. just ask john banks

hi john
my stroker was not a kit, the cheapest kit was the tomei kit and that was 4k and the jun kit is around 5k
i got a crank from the uk from a different car, rods and pistons from USA. RODS ARE OLIVER, PISTONS ARE JE ( AGAIN not standard je off the shelf they were custom built for me to take up to 600bhp with uprated wrist pins! )
the crank undergone nitriding treatment at agra. cams were made custom made ( again my own spec by piper), springs are from crower in the states along with crower tit retainers.
the squeash areas again were according to my own specs. none standard obviously . valves are black nitrided stainless again from the states.
so as you can see it took a lot of time and effort to decide on my engine spec, and that is way i know now one will actually ever manage to copy it. apart from me off course .
i am in the process of ordering the parts to build another one for my friend scott ( silver evo6)
speccing an engine is not really that difficult once you get into it. what you need to do is sit down with a proper engine builder and take about the various things you want to achieve. then it is really easy from there. couple of things measured, a calculator and voila bob is your uncle. and off course some companies that are willing do thing for you as a one off .
jb should have probably let andy F do his engine i am sure it would have been finished and running by now

It is a daily car, the stereo, soundproofing, carpets, seats, spare wheel, tools and A/C all stay
So it won't be that fast. Nothing to worry Sam anyway.
