Can you hire Crash Helmets out on the night as I dont have one??

I've only got a lowly RS Turbo () but fancy maybe taking it on to the track sometime soon, how much does it cost??

Anything else I might need to know??

Does anyone hand out free Passenger laps??

Cheers,
Grant

Costs £50 but your car has to be worth £10 k or more.

Pax laps are possible as long as you go along at 1700 hrs to sign one ( even if you just wanna hitch a pax lap)

Helmets are free ( also odour free if your lucky !)

Weather forecast is lookin' good

Cheers

Talking

A quality night chaps !!!!

Cheers to Skyenet for the camera work Hopefully I entertained you with the tail-out action Please drop me an email for my address...

Anyone know who was driving the black bug eye WRX that couldn't get passed me (even after 4 laps !). I presume it was standard as it couldn't nip past me on any of the straights and was fairly quiet for a Scoob. Expected him to destroy me on the straights. We were both eventually demolished by a silver Evo that must have been heavily tweaked. Cheers for the "duel" in anycase

Bit surprised at some of the Caterhams driving going into Duffus ( the red one in particular which forced me off my line - v.poor etiquette)

It was my first track day but I LOVED it !

Dougster - were you in the Blue classic scoob / gold wheels with no rear spoiler (I think you work at my office). Never got to speak to you...

Cheers n' beers

CTR, My wagon was the shiney white one with Hayward and Scott BB.

Enjoyed the crack with Johnny50 on pit but shot off early to catch up with Glasgow meet boys.

You seemed busy with your other Honda buddies, but give me a shout next time.

P.S. My gf works for Honda if that helps in anyway!!

Cal

Many thanks for the highly enjoyable pax laps. Was not sure whether I was going to come out with you after you pre-Knockhill "Tail-Out" epsisode. CTR's just don't go round corners as well as Elises :-)

Agree about the Caterhams. in fact I am sure I saw the incident you spoke about as I was behind you in Stu's Scandal Green Sport 160 Elise at the time. The Caterhams were surpisingly slow around the corners tonight. I have loads of very close up shots of the red one from the 160 Elise. In the end he eventually moved out of the way, probably because he thought the guy behind was a nutter (which he was)

I went out in a Black Scooby and it was great fun but unfortunately the track was deserted at the time so didn't get that much good footage of other cars. Did however mount the camera in a similar position to yours, just behind the front offside wheel so the view looked good. Will get some stills from the videos up soon.

Also went out in the blue VX220 Turbo owned by Kirk (of QFX-FREEDOM fame - Single in the shops now) which was very quick, though not as quick as the red one. Great fun chasing it later in the night, and eventually passing it in Stu's 160 Elise.

Top night and had great fun. Got 2 hours of video to get through. Cal for you I'll just copy all the stuff onto a VHS tape for you. Even when I am in other cars I have video of you on track. E-mail me your snail mail address to iain@skyenet.freeserve.co.uk

Good to see many familiar and new faces, though sorry for not getting much chance to talk to anyone. Can't beleive how quickly the two hours go by. Roll on the SIDC day in September.

Some stills from tonight's video footage

And one from the last SIDC day when I had a wee spin at the chicane – I have loads more (including many Scoobys) but need to get them uploaded – Will post new thread when I get round to it.

Had a great time :-)

Had a great chat with Johnny50 - good luck with the house move matey.

Spun it once - on Daweo (sp) / Hislop corner - no damage except pride.

I had a few duels with the CTRs. One of the blacks ones was quicker than me, but one of the red ones (reg DNC?) I reeled in over a couple of laps :-)

One of the white ITRs was very balanced thru the corners - cracking car - I could only keep up (just) with him.

Video footage has me doing a best lap of 1m7s - 2s faster than my personal best :-)

Cheers
Kenny

PS. when is the next KH track day (SIDC?)?

Kenny

I am sure I saw you spin at Hislop. What colour was your car? May even have captured it on video. Only quickly scanned through video late last night (well early this monring) just to pick out some stills so far.
One of the white ITRs was very balanced thru the corners - cracking car - I could only keep up (just) with him.
That was either me, UK ITR with Irish plate or Andy JDM ITR with N plate.

Unfortunately Andy suffered an alternator belt failure, in the last hour....Andy is a very quick driver in that ITR....I can hardly keep up with him.

Skyenet - I`m very impressed with that video set-up you fitted to Cal`s CTR...I`m hoping Santa will bring me one this year. D

Skyenet - i've got a dark blue my99 with gold alloys. If you have me spinning i would be very much greatful of a video clip or a few snap shots of it. Cheers.

Sambo sei - sorry I didn't say hello - with only two hours of track time I was focused on getting out there as much as poss. I'm using the fact I didn't have a spoiler as the reason I spun at Hislop :-)

I can't remember the reg of the White ITR - but I'll look at my video footage tonight and see if its visible.
good to see the CTR boys and their light up brake discs
Do I smell a whiff of sarcasm my good man? If you've read this months "Car & Car Conversions" magazine you know that the STANDARD CTR brakes stopped quicker than the Evo 7 with 6 pot Alcon brakes & the Focus RS with AP racing 6 pots.

In an other test ( with the gimp Clarkson I think) it stopped quicker than a 911 turbo

That said my brakes were smokin' like a mafia boss after my first session...

Anyways, I still love Scoobs but jump to the CTR's defense on this site as they often get unwarranted press. Just my 10p's worth !

Cal

ps Ian - cheers for the reply by email
