No thats not it guys. I had been offered a rare racing Subaru from Japan, and had posted the details as i am not in a position to buy it myself at the moment. It is a genuine race car and would be a very nice thing to own so i posted the details to see if any scoobynetters would be interested. As i suspected there was lots of interest, but then the thread disapeared without trace. My guess was that some "nothing better to do" moderator removed it. Very sad.... Have a word with yourself whoever done it.....

I removed it.
Why?
Because you are a vehicle importer (self-advertised on your name/handle) and were offering a vehicle FS in the FS forum. Therefore it is safe to assume that you would import the vehicle and sell it to the final user - that makes it a trade sale. Prehaps you were only going to cover costs - very noble, but still a trade sale.
On the other hand, your reasoning as to advertising it so that someone else could buy it, is advertising "on behalf of", again something that goes against FS guidelines.
It may be the most wonderful car/bargain of the year but that forum is for the private sale of goods for registered members. It gets very very busy in there & its not helped with threads that shouldn't be there.
I'm unlikely to "win" on this 'cos if I didn't remove it (I had 3 RTMs on it already) the mods would be criticised for favouritism/back-handers whatever & next time one, maybe more blatant, comes along - "well you didn't delete his" ner ner.
Believe you me, I've got loads better to do & have now had to answer this query at the request of another moderator, hence spending more of my time on this matter.
Hope that clears up the reasoning
Thank you

I am an enthusiast Scoob owner who thought that some like minded person on the forum may want to buy the car. You dont get the chance of a car like that very often, do you? I just think that no one would have minded an exception like that.... Who would have really got upset I ask you?

What I was asking in essence is "Is this post allowed to stay here?"
I for one think it's a good idea to at least make people aware of it's sale. If I had the money.....

I wont buy the car for stock..... So because it is now getting no exposure the chances are no one here will now get to own such a rare car... As a Subaru enthusiast, its a bit of a shame dont you think. Just cause some people have a bit of a moan the rest suffer.... oh well.

JVSImpreza,
Unfortunately, the thread could be interpreted by other advertisers as free advertising, as it is your line of business.
As a rule, avoid posting adverts for items you sell yourself.
Cheers, Alex

I understand where you are coming from, and I don't personally believe you would make anything out of it.
But, rules are rules I'm afraid, and a judgement was made based on RTMs and T&Cs. Apologises if this seems harsh, but we do try to treat everyone the same, based on the guidelines we've been given.
Regards, Alex
