i started loosing power at 3-4 thousand revs then when i came into the pits and opened my window i could hear the finns hitting off the casing, i asked for a mechanical opinion as i hoped it was a heat shield or something and thats when he broke me the bad news.

That's a bit of an a**e Sy, but at least it's fixed now.
The reason I asked is I've got a high pitched oscillating metallic noise on full boost, worse over 4500rpm, which I've been concerned may be a similar problem.
I think my noise is my wastegate actuator rod rubbing on the wastegate actuator housing though, because the wastegate makes a squeaky hinge noise when you pull on it manually, and it's improved, but not eradicated with a bit of WD40. No power loss either.
Cheers for the info

I had a problem at the weekend Sy, a house full of Geordies who eat all the food AND drank all my beer.
Anyway we had a good weekend with the track day on Saturday then the Perth motor show on Sunday.
And a big thanks to Davie and Grant at AWD for getting Sy's car back on the road at very short notice.
