Treble Why does that not suprise me!! The sad thing is I find that without thinking I instictually accelerate after a speed camera when I'd have probably cruised at a steady 30 anyway if it hadn't been there. Control can be a bad thing - for example just now I'm on a diet and I crave foods I wouldn't normally batter an eye lid at - its simply because I feel controlled that I want the food. I question this notion of putting camera's left right and centre!

Cool

Lol@Saxo Boy - i was in my car the other day with a mate joining the M8 and i had to say to him, "keep an eye on the knocklink - if it lights up shout". I could do with one of those see thru display screens that the fighter jets have. That would be a good next modification

Bloody hell. Talk about a quick way to raise some cash. Next thing is that we will be paying to drive into the city which is when the scooby gets tucked away in the garage and i start cycling to work again.

One at the top of Liberton Brae as well

Not much point though as average speed must be about 3mph in rush-hour

Not working yet anyway as not a peep out of the snooper

Wink

just dont see the point. They'l be put to memory very quickly and i'll never be caught but what will i do when ive past the camera??? Waist of feckin time

It might catch the odd jap tourist in a rented car but its not gonna catch the ones its meant to. They shouldnt be called speed cameras they should be called "money making speed adjusters"

Hi Sparkster, the racing hmmm, last race was at Falkirk on May 5th where I got shelled big time but then so did loads of others (20 finishers out of 47) after getting a 7th at the previous week's Ingliston Crit, I've since been to Italy for a week for a short holiday with some riding in the sun (temps of 25c - fab), and then night shift (last one tonight) - I'll do the Falkirk RR on Sunday where I guess I'll see if 280 miles riding in Italy has made any improvement.
Cracking cycling/driving roads near Lake Garda inc one 23% climb plus rode a section used in last year's Giro going up to something like 1600m altitude !

Yup, Gary looks like he's doing pretty damn well - there's a short interview with him on the SCU web site.

Back on topic, the report in the Eve News, plus info from a source that deals with the Police, is that the number of cameras is to greatly increase as civilian operators take over the speed cameras, so I think they could be sprouting up absolutely everywhere where they think that they can catch drivers - just like Drumbrae nr Corstorphine which to keep strictly to the 30mph limit down the steep hill requires you to keep on your brakes probably the whole way down !

I saw the workies installing a new camera tonight. Doing it under the cover of darkness so they don't get dogs abuse. How can they live with themselves................I suppose everyone's got to earn a living though.
