Went for a coffee at lunchtime and ran into the Police stopping cars for emmissions testing. Luckily I wasn't pulled, but they were stopping loads of cars - most of them older ones thankfully.

They were just off the main dual carraigeway on the way towards Asda.

i pass around here regularly. I will fail an emmissions test. What do you say to the police so that you can get the test done at a later date?

No idea m8; I'd just plead innocent. The Police can only stop you if there is sufficient suspicion that your car is emitting unacceptable levels of fumes.

I think if you fail you'll either be given a spot-fine and given 7-days to get it fixed.
