Did anyone go?
I know big John with the white STi wagon was there, cause I was behind him from Lauder for a bit of the way There was a uk300 and a blob eye STi too
I got into Jedburgh at about 10'ish & headed out to SS1 to find out that it had been cancelled. As far as I know, it was the 0 cars that had came of the road . I know for sure that it wasn't competition or spectator cars.
So We headed out to SS5 via the pub, which took fookin ages to get to
The parking facilities at the stage were **** BTW
Then headed out towards the large wide open space just before entering the forest which goes into a square right into square left
Not only was the weather fookin brilliant, I took over 100 photos . It's a shame we only visited one SS though, cause it was 7pm when we got back to Jedburgh.
Top day! There should be some photos up in the gallery in a few days
oh, the focus just loved the B roads today

The chap that died was Roy Herron. As well as co-driving he was also an MSA Scrutineer and was Head Scrutineer at all EACC events at Kames for the past, god knows, how many years.
Tragic !!

I was with Bob T all day, we managed to get in 3 stages.
SS1, 4 & 6.
We heard that ss1 was stooped cos the 0 car went off followed by Woods Audi and then another car. SS1 was stopped after Champions Puma car 17.
We then had a sedate run through the forest drive at a woppin 15 mph due to Jedburghs finest "lovey dovey" couple in a silver Clio.
Would they bollix get out of the way and the 10 cars behind me past!
To top that they actually followed us in and out of ss4 totally oblivious to the fact I was road raged up with em.
The stage was a gud un though.
SS4 to ss6 was at a better rate of knots as Bob would vouch!!
SS6 was good but obviously the day the shine was takin off the day by the tragic news of the Mr Herrons accident.
My sympathies go out to the family and freinds. Really bad news.

Guys,
It was my best mate who was the driver!
My mates still in hospital. Not exactly sure what Mr Herron's cause of death was but i know what his injuries were.
Very sad news indeed.

Crush,
Not sure exactly which part of the rally it happened in, but the car slide into a ditch then rattled into a clump of trees!!!!
As wee all know, tree's are not forgiving!!!!
Great shame.....feel for the family

I note the thread topic has changed, but can I answer Crush's original one?
Yes we were there, does your comment mean you passed us? don't remember that! Was it a silver ford? Apologies if I was going too slow, I had my son in the car.
We went to the start and ss2, took 219 photos, George did you get the three I emailed you?
Sorry to hear about Roy Herron, my sympathies to everyone who new him.
John

Hi, i was there on Saturday (Blue Classic Turbo) along with friends in a STI7 import (tinted windows).
Went to SS1,SS3 & SS5..... was it the Metro 6R4 that went off SS1 along with the Audi??
Had a good day out, weather couldnt have been better.
Crush... the sq Right sq Left you stood at....was that SS5? cause think i was there.
As i say, great day out, but day blackened by the News of Co-Driver being killed.. deepest sympathies go out to family & friends of Roy.
Very Sad

That's the very corner. Was your car an X registration by any chance? just straight on before the Sq Left?
I was at different parts of that section trying to get some decent photos
