Mods, can you leave in here please as i am hoping for somewhere local - thanks.

Ok, so does anyone know of any places in scotland - aberdeen preferably - that does full re-trims of car interiors???

Any info or addys or phone numbers would be cool

Cheers,

Transcal in Livingston, top top quality work. Did my S1 RS Turbo recaros in Black with white centres, embroidered logo on the middle of the seat Amazing stitching and can do pretty much any style/combination you require, including side panels, dashes, centre consoles, etc. Highly recommended

Edited cos they have now moved to Livingston

www.transcal.co.uk

Prices are really dependant on what spec you go for, mine was about a grand for everything from memory but that was a good while ago

Give them a phone and i'm sure they'll be able to give you a good idea

Not much really, i have just got new seats for my golf so before i put them in i am fancying a full leather re-trim in Tan leather, should be pretty pimping like (the car is black so tan is the way ahead)... Just want to get them done before i go to the effort of putting them in and then having to take them out later on..
You don't happen to have any pics of your retrim do you??? would be good to see what like their work is.. I have been considering MJ Interiors but since this place is in Scotland it would be easier for me to get the seats there etc..

Cheers

Boyner,

Do us a favour mate, let me know how you get on with them. I'm restoring a Mk1 Gti and need to get the seats re-trimmed. Will be giving transcal a call but forewarned is forearmed, if you know what I mean .

Have you asked them a price for a standard re-trim? or is it just the leather option you want?

Cheers

I only called them last night and spoke to the lady at reception - i pressume - unfortunately the boys who do the re-trims aint gonna be back till Monday and she had no idea of how much it would cost. For a full leather re-trim at MJ Interiors you are looking at £750, so i expect it will be similar prices to that. It is a Mk2 Golf but it is Mk3 GTi seats that are going in..

How far on with the Mk1 are you??

Cheers,

Boyner

Not very!!

Shell is completely stripped, all thats left is wheels and axles.
Will be going to get the underside shotblasted in the next couple of weeks. Have bought the panels that I know it needs just now, but the shot blasting will let me know exactly what is needed.

Got a catalogue for Big Boys Toys- they do 1600 inj engines exchange for £500, which I thought was good, But need to contact them to see if it would be possible to get my engine back, just to keep everything original.

Gonna start posting pics in the Projects forum, once I get some more work done!

That looks like a good price at £750 for a full leather retrim, I was toying with the idea of getting the original inserts retrimmed as standard but getting the bolsters done in leather, although will probably keep it all cloth for originality.

Cheers

I'll try and dig out some photos for you but i can assure you the work is top notch, just as good if not better than factory installs. They have done many a mag feature car in their time

Leys - alright mate, about time like....

Doug - The 750 squid i got from MJ was off the website, it works out to be more like 950 by the time the collection and delivery has been taken care of, i am getting some pics and leather samples from them this week, however i am still to hear from Transcal..

Langy - The boy from Transcal was meant to call me yesterday but he never so i will have to wait till later today and then call him, see what kinda price they are offering. I could save almost 100 squid if i could drop off and collect them myself..I will let you know what price they say...

Cheers,

Boyner

Cool

Boyner I thought you would get them trimmed in white, for that full on pimp look.

PS My car has now been pimp tinted and I got the 18"s on so come over for a gander if you like.

PPS Fit Like Leys (Marc here), watch out for friendly fire by the way

Sound,

let us know how you get on with transcal as they aint that far from me, so getting stuff to them aint a problem. Should really just go round and see them myself, but the interior restoration is a long way away at the moment!! So it would give me a rough idea as to how much it will cost.

Cheers

Alright Marc, just seen the pics of your car, looking nice. But it's not as good as the Ford Focus 1.6 (Auto) rental that I have out here, what a weapon! ;-)

Nope...I have called twice, spoke to a lady twice who said she would get them to call back and filled out an enquiry form off their website but still haven't heard anything back from then..(phone or email)
I have just left it for the now, am really busy at the mo and don't have time to chase them up.. I will get back on the case when things have calmed down.. and i will let you know anything when i find out..

Cheers,

Boyner
