Sorry for a silly question, but does a standard turbo come with a dump valve? If it doesn't I'd probably get one.

yes a standard car will have one.

All standard turbo impreza's come with a recirculating dump valve. What you might find is people modify this to a vent to atmosphere type (aka VTA) and you get the loud ppphhhhssssttttt!!!!! noise on gear change.
