Following James's thread in drivetrain

I sent my downpipe to Hayward and Scott to have the splitter mod done to the downpipe, along with an order for a full 3 inch system.

I've just been informed by Ian at Hayward and Scott, that it will be with me tomorrow.

Pictures to follow.

Paintwork should be finished by midweek m8.

Planning for Wednesday.
If it's not finished on Wednesday and ready for pick up, it will be the weekend or start of next week.

Any more news from Mark m8?

Thanks Ian,
Exhaust arrived this morning

First imperessions, very well made and designed.
Very quick service with a 2 day turnaround

Hayward and Scott also modified the downpipe to 3 inch all the way through, as it previously had a 2.5 inch reducer to allow fittment to a 2.5 inch centre section.

Just need to contact Stuart at Bishopton garage now to arrange for fittment.

Er ? Looks a bit long that splitter for a TD05 ? Beware the VF and TD require different lengths !

Andy,

Splitter protrudes 3 cm from the flange.
I got your e-mail regarding the TD and VF differeces.
I told Ian that I had a TD 05 turbo on, just wondering if that was enough.
They done one for Pat at the weekend, but I dont know what turbo that would have been for.

I'll get in touch with Ian just now and see what he say's.
Whats the maximum size the splitter can be if fitting to a TD 05.

I'd need to go and measure one in the garage. Just measure your own one from the flange to the inside flat area in the exhaust end.

As in my pic above

Andy,

Pat think's he might have confused the issue a bit. His car was in at Hayward and Scott at the weekend getting a new downpipe for his Legacy, and they pioneered the first splitter mod for his downpipe.
The confusion lie's in Pat's IHI VF12 looking similar to the TD 05, and the VF 12 being used as the turbo for messurement for a splitter to fit with the TD 05.

Ian's got back to me this morning to confirm this. He said I should grind 10mm off the end, and put an 8mm radius on each corner.
While I am not affraid to get my hand's dirty, I'll send it back down to them to give them a chance to correct the splitter.

Thanks again for pointing that out m8

Just measured it, 23 mm from flange to turbo. Add the gasket thickness and you're looking at 24mm leaving 1/2mm clearance.
