A80 unmarked camera van, Muirhead
#1
Very sneaky white van sitting with large camera poking out back door, sitting in the layby just after the moodiesburn hotel, also just after the gatso, whats this all about, i thought the european rights commission ruled that these cameras had to be well marked and positioned in accident black spots, not on main stretches of non-built up duel carrigeway, not impressed at all, of course i was doing the correct speed as i always do but it just gets my back up to see such sneaky tactics.

Was it a speed camera or one of the DVLA registration checking ones? I passed a DVLA one just North of Milton Bridge this afternoon. White Citroen (I think) with some DVLA signwriting on the side and a wee DVLA sign on the ground behind the van.

I've seen this one as well. Not sure what it is, but its a camera and thats enough for me. Dont recall seeing any writing on the van at all.
Definately dont understand why they insist of using it on open stretch of road though?
The camera's at moodiesburn was well overdue with some of the speeds i saw people going through a 30 zone. However, sticking a camera at the Muirhead petrol station/traffic lights was a stroke of sheer stupidity.
