I have a MY98 4dr scoob and i have been getting really bad brake judder when braking progressively from about 80..It doesn't happen when you put the brakes on lightly or when you stamp on them. Is this a common problem or are my brakes fcuked???

Any help would be cool..

Cheers,

Boyner

Stong possibility your discs could be warped m8

Another possibility could be a wheel bearing, though far more likely to be a brake disc.

Maybe not warped, but possibly pad deposits built up on the surface (caused by leaving your foot on thr brakes when they are hot) ? A skim will cure both problems.

I second the warped theory. I used to get this in the VTS a lot. (3 sets of disks in a year) I noticed it the most when coming off a slip road and slowing down with light to intermediate brake pressure.

John is right though, always let the brakes cool down if you've been pushing them

I have the car booked in to get the discs skimmed and a new set of pads put on so hopefully this will cure the problem.
I will let y'all know what the outcome is when i have the work done - next wednesday..

Cheers

I was going to uprate them but i now have a new car so i won't be driving the scoob so there is no point IMO spending more money than i have to...If i was going to be driving it on a regular basis then i would have uprate them but i'm not so i wont

Cheers
