Someone on here recently said that they had the facilities at work (aberdeen area) to skim disks, who was it ??

I have a set of old front disks that need to be done, and might need to get the current rear ones done too.

There is a place on Whitemyres Ave opposite Autosonic that does this. I got some done there about a year ago, he typed trying to remeber what the f--- they are called.

There are a bunch of industrial units across the road from Autosonic, and they are on the left as you go into the units.

I'll get the name tomorrow, forgot for now. They have a milling/skimming machine, and they did a good job of mine.

The place your thinking on is Precision Engineering in Whitemyres in Mastrick.

Although any good engineering shop in Aberdeen should have the facilities to skim a set of disks for you.

Thanks guys, sound like i'll be having a trip out to Kintore

John, not the primary reason for getting them done but it is also a bit of forward planning just in case.

i got a set done on a lathe by a big company in Aberdeen
got them back and the judder was worse.
you cant get both sides set up the same full stop.

the machine leylodge has does both sides at the same time
keeping the disc runing true.
they can even do 360 mm discs i had them do my skyline discs.

THIS IS JUST MY 2P WORTH

Well sorry for trying to be of assistance
If a turner can not true up a disc what hope has he got?
My turner has been skimming discs in his sleep for the last 42 years so i think it might be ok.
Mine certainly are as are two other chaps we have helped out
But hey as i have said only trying to be helpful.

Sasim, any luck with those dics and pads from your M8 in Peterhead?

I'm now home and want to sort out my brakes.

Russell, YHM

Thanks for the offer Craig much appreciated, I would imagine that Russell will be in touch with you tomorrow.

I will also need to get the rear ones done, I'll give you a shout in a couple of weeks for them.
