I have just finished reading Simon's post in General about trying to get rid of the crap on here and I must say that Saxo Boys comment seems to be one of the better ideas although there are a few good ones.
Maybe I have said some things in the past which I shouldn't have said but it just annoys me how some guys think that women are only good for the kitchen. Also I really don't think football should be mentioned afterall there is a Sport Forum nowadays and in particular bigotry as that will always start a fight. Also don't think religion (whatever you are) should be mentioned either as this is just another target for some smartar$e to say something out of turn.
When I started coming in here it was a great place and to be honest it still is and I have made loads of friends and enjoying going to some of the meets, even though it is difficult for me I still try to make the effort to go.
Any other thoughts ??

Nicely worded, especially the bigotry bit.
I'm only fresh to SN since Aug, so I dont know of its history, but I'm slowly learning about the car and thats why, at the end of the day, we're all on here.
Peace, love, good and happiness stuff. There's enough downers in the world as it is, without coming on a forum and getting wound up.
Take care folks,
Marky-San

I have to admit that I haven't actually read through the whole thread in General yet, but it does appear that a lot of the members agree that the quality and friendliness of the BBS postings is slowly deteriorating, and that something will have to be done.
I’d actually prefer it if any comments are sent directly to me by e-mail for now especially if they are negative or may appear unpopular. But if you want to chat amongst yourselves about it then go for it here.
I will almost certainly have to give up moderating soon and would love to help turn the trend around before I retire.
Cheers
Stuart

I can't decide to make fun of the kitchen comment, agree with you, make other jokes or just say nothing, so......

Well said btw, no racism, religion or footy racism as these are things people feel way to strongly about to discuss in a calm manner.

This Forum isn't too bad for neanderthals, thing is you will never be able to eradicate, moderate, etc. Forums are like what you get on a typical friday night in any town. You get a good laugh off some people and you get ned-like ***** doing what they can do best. Ruff with smooth I guess. At least the bank account doesnt suffer

oh and, its better that people can post what they like tho, as the internet is one of the only communication mediums which is relitively un-censored. When you think about it theres not much else that isnt Filtered/Censored/Controlled etc etc. Food for thought....

Harsh moses, very fricking harsh AJ is not being stressed, uptight, etc - she's just trying to be helpful as are a lot of people on scoobynet at the moment since it has started to suffer from poor posting!

AJ may be talking about the actual 'EVO' forum and not the MLR.
I'm sure she will clear this up shortly. In the meantime I echo her statments, and would recommend people read Simon's thread in the 'General' section.

I suppose I should put my hand up hear, as I have said something about kitchens and football. I know alot of you guy's on here, and you will know that I dont even follow football, or havent even been to a football game for that matter. With regards to the kitchen, you were a better cook than me misses, that's all

As for the evo forum well i know of the rumours but in every walk of life there are tw@ts, just the internet is so far reaching and accesable that people who are out to cause trouble can find avenues to rant................
I like this forum cos of the banter, i dont own a scoob but consider this place a wee scottish forum where people first and foremost are into cars.
I have met some of the folks on here and i'm sure if everyone on here was to meet each other then there aint probs.
mesages can be taken the wrong way, out of context etc. etc.
I havn't been offended on here and i dont know anyone who has tbh!
as for the content of the general forum i never venture in there as it seems full of scoob vs civic "which is faster across the twisties"
when we all kow it is the MINI Copper LOL
A thank you

did someone post something nasty?
I must have missed [ignored] it
That thread grew far too quickly for me...
with my typing a reply, it moved on 2 pages
maybe it just shows up my typing skill
I used to go to the evo (mag) forum... about 18 months ago.
Even went on a meet (drive west of Perth)... no where near as friendly as the scooby meets I have been to from here.
(did manage to fry a bird next to my radiator on that run - was cooked right through - solid when i fished it out)
There are folk on here who make postings that have me wondering if they are just up for a fight or to get their anger out or to sleeze up to lassies.
I have been tempted to reply - but why should I waste the mechanism in my keyboard?
Ignoring them works. Same as in real life
Well done AJ (are you single)
Dundee are MILES better than Dundee United
And Scoobys are quicker in the twisties, unless the civic has UFO beating under-car lighting
Edited coz I can never remember the sign for the :P
Edited again coz I cannae speel

I try and live my life by treating others the way I would like them to treat me. Dosn't always work but better than any religion I have come accross as everybody is equal. Very wary of religious types after being brought up in Belfast during the 60's (that's my age given away now) and would prefer threads are kept completely free of such as it is after all a driver's forum. Don't know a thing about football either, but do know where the kitchen is.
Some of the reasons I registered on Scoobynet are:
Well organised events, run and attended by a good crowd of people with friendly Scooby/Elise banter.

Doing fine and young Skye is keeping me busy, especially as her Nursery is on Holiday this week.
It's my Smarties 1st birthday on Saturday and she certainly deserves a present as she has been totally dependable all year. Well chuffed with her.
Catch up with everybody on the Knockhill track day in November (as long as it goes ahead that is)
