The sodding o/s rear wheel bearing on my '98 is on the way oot. Normally AWD do all the work on the car and I don't think it's wise to drive to Perth to get it changed. It's not going near to T&C.
I work in Dyce and hence was thinking about getting Colin's Tyres to change it. Impreza bearing are easy to change, right? Any good or bad experiences with them, or are there any other suggestions?

Miles,
given the right tools and the section from the workshop manuals, then I'm sure any competent garage could do it.
I actually ran my old car for over 12 months with a noisy wheel bearing at the rear. You can now get something called a "speedy sleeve" from Subaru dealers, which fits over the driveshaft and prevents failures happening again from the corrosion/crap which gets into the bearings.
I think it's about two hours labour to fit the bearing, as you need to strip down the rear brakes and hub, and I think possibly use a press to get the bearing in/out.
