Thanks Pete for organising, thanks Jim. Thanks for letting me on at the last minute and thanks all for chanting at me like a gladiator as I went on. Talk about pressure Nice to join the 300+ flywheel 200+ PAW club on a top mount intercooler and a JECS ECU, and I'll be back with the FMIC Although I think next time would be better since Andy's AP22 gave me 255 ATW and I think I have just fixed an air leak at the throttle body from swapping intercoolers about so that COULD have dropped things and given that funny dip on my trace. Anyway, roll on the FMIC
Very pleased with Theo's car which at 178 PAW for a TD04L (after sorting out the holed intercooler) is about the best Star has seen, despite the hot temperatures.
All in all a very hot day which always messes up everyone's figures a bit so good to see at least a few happy faces
Iain's car needs some more work to get the power but at least it did not detonate on the rollers like it did when standard.

Yes, thanks to all for organising/running the day.
Now I've got a baseline figure, I can see the benefits (or not) of any mods I do. Nice to know the car is in good fettle.
Good to meet people and put faces to names.
See you all at KH in twoo weeks.

Thanks Pete for an enjoyable day - the sight and sound of all those cars was amazing.
Not too impressed with our figures but at least we now have a benchmark.
A real eye opener to see what can be acheived - maybe one day!.
Thanks to John Banks for the offer of help - will be in contact soon.
Thanks also to RR for the grub - up to the usual high standards.
Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Andy, 305HP at the wheels?
are you a freaking mentalist?
why is your engine not in pieces?
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
so it might not have been the gear ratios that put you past JB at knockhill then.....

I`d also like to say a big thanks to Jim, Brian and all the Star Performance staff for making the day go smoothly.
Also thanks to everyone who attended today for making the event what it was, seeing everyone enjoying themselves makes the whole thing worth it .
It was good to see some new faces mixed in with all the regulars. The banter was good, the burgers were great and unusually for our dyno days the weather was good as well
I`ve been editing pics all night, so all going well they should be up on the site 2morrow night (I`ll post up when they`re online). The ones from the industrial estate came out excellent IMHO.
BTW special thanks to JohnSTi for lending me an unused memory card when mine maxed out.
Good 2 c u all again and meet all the 1st timers.
Remember we have another dyno session (including a few Skylines)next Sunday if anyone didn`t get a space today. C u all again soon
peebs.

Mark,
Power at the flywheel 269 BHP @ 6580 rpm
Peak torque 259 lbs/ft @ 4060 rpm
Power at the wheels 202 BHP
I was hoping for around 270 brake at the flywheel which is what I got so I'm happy with that.
202 brake at the wheels was nice, torque looked very good though.
Watch this space!
Rob.

Pete, a round of applause for the great organising you did on the Dyno session today.Big thanks to Jim and the boys for giving me an idea of what the car is producing and I'm pleased to say very very happy with the outcome, 268bhp at fw far more than I expected.
I know that Gaz and the Big Green Taxi are more than happy with his results. 287bhp at 207,000 miles got to be a record!!!
Great to meet everyone and cheers again
Russ

Should the compensation be for intake temperature not throttle body charge temp to standardise results which would pull some flywheel figures down if they were based on throttle body temps?
Surprised to see the charge temps in the 80s or 90s C on the RR (still about 35 C higher than PE) - certainly my knocklink was noisy, and it would be impossible to map the ignition to safely deal with this in advance - you are left guessing... It is even harsher than Knockhill for det it seems since I am 30 C lower at Knockhill than on the rollers? Any thoughts?

As you are aware, the temperature sensor required for standardisation to DIN 70020 was not in use. Jim had, I believe entered a nominal figure of 20 DegC for the purposes of the DIN calc.
I think the 6% Jim was suggesting we should add was just to compensate for the actual ambient conditions ??
My runs from back in April were 'normalised' by +6.3 % That was with an intake (not charge) temp of 36C.

Would like to post a "Medal of Honour" call for the following;
Pete: for organising a great event, my first dyno run (which as most of you have read had it's good and bad fortunes for me!), however, I'll be back for more !
Jim and Brian @ Star: especially Brian for crawling out his pit for 9am to change over a set of duff plugs for me
All who were there: Thank you for letting me skip the queue for my second run with the transplanted IC (and for looking after my Dad while I was attending the surgery!!)
And for the two surgeons (you know who you are!): Again, I owe you a lot for yesterday. Several drinks with your name on them await consumption.
Very grateful, since I've now learnt how to change over a top mount
In all, a great day out and I'm now on the hunt for more mods !

Devil's car was recently remapped - after I beat him - by John and he made 272 at the fly with a full decat and TEK3 but using a dawes to control the boost rather than the ECU.

Theo's had a big intercooler leak and gained over 40 BHP and 40 lbft when it was fixed though, so the situation now would be reversed. I think this is why your car beat his originally Kenny.

Theo has wicked plans though Kenny. Says he is not trying to beat you, honest
Richard, the Dawes is controlling the boost better than the ECU can with a 2 port solenoid. The boost stays up on the rolling road, in hot weather and lower gears. For example - a car which runs 17 PSI on the road ends up with 15.8 on the rolling road Not really going to give a representative power figure. Nice in some ways that the boost drops in hot weather and is not spiky in cold weather, but this amount of variation is not ideal. However, with the Dawes the ECU doesn't have boost control so you lose some safety features - hence me recommending a knocklink with this route.
