Car needs it's 45k (doh!) service pronto and i'd like to keep it dealer stamped so my obvious and most local choice is nobles at Pencuik. I'd be willing to travel though if you guys think I'd get it cheaper at another dealer elsewhere in central scotland. Suggestions?

MY99, see main forum thread
Got quoted £355 at nobels which seems reasonable, but I'll put off booking her in for a few days until I get a few more responses.
Cheers

I'm with Phil, Fiskins in Forfar are pretty decent.
They don't mind you providing your own parts to lower costs.
Just had my 30K done and I provided oil, panel filter and spark plugs.
Would've provided the brake pads as well if i'd known they were gonna change them
Blue
PS You coming along for the run on the 21st Kenny?

i used to use Nobles don't anymore.... bought my new car from S & S in Ayr and take it there for service.
It is a great day out along the A71/back roads to Ayr and they do an EXCELLENT job - they washed and hoovered my car last time (for free) I was in because it was dirty I only went in for the 1000 mile service...
I think their labour rate is cheaper than Nobles. Why not phone John Spicer at S&S and ask.

Kenny,
Should be heading up North soon myself for a little expedition.
Using Ullapool(Wayfarer Bar)as a base. What's your plans as we may bump into each other on the way?
P.S. for all you Fifers that think you have the best chippys in the world-try Ullapool which is on the west coast. A little north but still west!!!!

Dougster I'll be going up to Achmelvich which is 3 miles from Lochinver which is 3 miles north of Ullapool on the 19th July till 12th August. Its looking like I'll need to make regular trips to Ullapool to get SUL (or hopefully optimax if its a shell and that far north yet) so maybe we'll meet up sometime. There is a fantastic road out to Kyleskew (spelt as it sounds) that you should investigate

Nobles give a SIDC discount of 10%. Well worth the £25 odd to join SIDC for the discount.
Very happy with the 30,000 service they did for me - thought the Justy curtesy car was awful!
The test drive in the STI Type UK made up for it though

No warranty left but I think I'll get this one and the next (cheaper) one done at a main dealer. That gives me a year to decide if I'll run it into the ground or if a full subaru service history will help it sell at a later time.
