Brilliant day at Donno.
Think next year there should be a Scottish contingency organised to go down, not one of you will regret the journey and the chance to meet up with other like minded peeps.
So many people there, very well attended and good to meet up with folks you normally only talk to through this board.
Dunno if EVO's will be allowed though.......

how the **** are you supposed to compare cars if you do not give each other some sport over a few laps ,to be able to see where each car has it's strong/weak points.
Sam,it sounds like on a typical lap I should side up at the start of every straight and let you through and you should side up and let me/tut through for the bends (at least until you really get used to the evo7 and you leave us at the bends too).
I have to admit to being choosey about who I get close to at track days and if a car,say comes out of the pits, who I do not know, with similar speed and I cannot get past them quickly,I will ease off and let them pull away from me before going hard again.why none of them did that with you makes me think they are the ones racing.
we can all at times overtake and mis-calculate the gap to a bend, but who is at fault?the overtaking driver for trying to pass a slower car on that part of the circuit and not having the "grunt" to do it quicker,or the car getting past for not easing off and allowing the faster car through.again we can all be guilty of keeping the foot down and making the faster car have to work for it up the straights.it's the best place to get a true comparisons between cars, not throught the bends or on some rolling road day p1sh.
perhaps if Sam had still been in the scoob,a car that regulars would have recognised as a "usual suspect" with track experience, people might have gone easier on him and accepted his jugement.how many track days have you done in the last few years Sam?guessing it must be close to 60,how many times have you been flagged or got a warning?mind you, they are having a go at Mellow, another with lots of experience and a scoob.again it sounds like these guys could not get past him easily,so rather than ease off and let him go,they keep close, basically racing and then come on here slating him too,no one forced these guys to hug your rears .

good point t-uk
the say he said it is not racing but they come about 4-5 ft of my rear bumper. and moans about not having enough power to actually pass me?!
it think it just hurts his pride after spending all that money on his supercharger conversion

Sam, T-uk,
Just read the nine page Donnie thread with some amusement. As soon as the black EVO 7 was mentioned, my ears pricked up(think I got that the right way round), but nobody mentioned a name until you replied on page seven.
They do sound as if they get their knickers in a bit of a twist. I have not met David Brown, but I know his 260hp Exige by reputation. Pity John and I were not with you to ride shotgun.
I have done Donington twice, and knowing how close you and I are at KH, I would have thought that he would have had a comfortable edge over you with that sort of power, and the downforce of an Exige over an Elise.
Apparently not.
Presume you will be at KH on the 20th, and you to John?
Maybe Michelle will finally make it with her own car, which would now appear to be a 22B.
That should be fun.

Last 'raced' proper in 2000 with my V8 UVA or 'wacky racer' as you guys like to call fast cars
I wouldn't actually recommend it anyway as you only get 10 mins qualifying and one 12 lap race for your £120+ entry fee
Trackdays are much better value, even if you have to be a bit more sensible about it

hi tut
i know they are just a bunch of women really. imagine if they came to a top marques night or even the glenrothes club track ( race) day
you are right about the exige, it just wasn't that much faster than you!! i was faster than him in few corners and he was faster on others. but i could not use 3rd gear for most of the circuit as it crunched like hell. so i was in 4th all the way from the top of redgate to under the bridge where i changed to 5th and then 3rd for the loop and teh couple of corners befoer the pit straight.
there was no way he could out drag me on the straight, and that is with me runing low boost .
see you on the 20th.

The thing I find really funny is that he is complaining about getting stone chips from Mellow's car, surely that just shows that he was too close, simple way to prevent that BACK OFF, sounds like he was trying to harrass other drivers.
