Unhappy

Just wanted to share my saddness with you all. Needin some sympathy!

Driving home from work yesterday morning and a deer thought it would be a good idea to jump out and attempt to cross the road in front of my Scoob.

Its bright idea didn't pay off and it ended up bouncing off of my front bumper.

I'm now gonna have to get a new bumper, radiator, headlight and get the dent left by its head taken out of the bonnet.

I've seen cars written off by deer hits so it could of been worse.

Same thing happened outside my house not that long ago!

The guy that hit the thing had similar damage as yourself. When the police turned up they dumped the thing round the side of my house which my girlfriend discovered the next moring. They had stuffed it inside a black bin bag and left the legs sticking out.

We had to call the Environmental Health to come and move it(couldn't get a butchers open on a Sunday!)

Also made a little call to the station involved!!

Nae luck, hope the damage is soon repaired.

I continued along the road to find somewhere to pull in. When i had inspected the damage, i went back to see the deer but it wasn't there.

It had got up and took off. Couldn't believe it coz i hit it at 55-60mph! Have since been told it is quite common for them to survive such a hit.

Should be back on the road in a couple of weeks. My Dad's got a MY98 so i've got the use of that for the moment so there will be no Scooby withdrawl symptoms!

I hit one about 4 years ago. Luckily it was a baby one and it went under the car instead of over the bonnet and thru the windscreen. It must have rattled every component under the car before coming out the back. Not nice but I can assure you the deer was very dead. No need to go back and check. Unfortunately this happened right out side my work at leaving time and there were several witnesses. Got 'bambi killer' taunts and emails at work for weeks.
