After the success of the last group buy, I'm thinking of organising one on what I consider the best alloy wheel cleaner available.

It's called P21-S, and comes in either 500ml spray containers, or 1 litre refills. it's a green gel stuff, which you spray (or brush) onto your wheels and simply leave on for up to 4 hours. it doesn't dry in. All you then simply do is hose it off with clean water.

I bought some about two years ago, but ran out about 12 months ago, and ever since then, keeping the wheels clean has been more of a task. I used to simply coat the wheels before I washed the car, left them alone whilst washing the car and then rinsed off with a hose. Only if the brake dust is really thick do you need to worry about agitating it with a brush/sponge etc.

This stuff is also completely acid free, and is safe to use on any type of alloy wheels. Unlike some acid based cleaners (like Wonder Wheels), it doesn't tarnish even the lead balance weights on the wheels. It's also biodegradable for the environmentally friendly amongst us.

The normal cost is about £15 for a 1 litre refill, or the 500ml spray container, plus P&P, but if we buy in bulk (minimum of 12 bottles), then we should be able to get this down to about the £10 - £11 mark.

I'll take three (1 litre refills) for myself (the wheels on the STi get dirty very quickly!), and my boss at work wants a bottle for his Merc (I gave him a sample of the stuff last year).

Any other takers ?

Once you have used this stuff, you won't want to use anything else!

Question

John, Fit like?

Is that stuff safe on polished rims? I am running diablos, and I dont want to kill the diamond cut finish on the rim. I am getting a bit cheesed off spending hours with a soft tooth brush and car shampoo to avoid damaging them.

Thanks in advance.

Martin,

yes it's safe on all type of finishes, including bare polished aluminium.

The official website is at: http://www.wackchem.com, though you'll need to use http://babelfish.altavista.com to translate it from German.

I've now also got the discounted price through, and it would be £11 per bottle including VAT, but probably another £1 P&P on top to get the case of stuff delivered to the one address (my house probably!). I would then distribute the stuff at meetings etc, like Willie did with the oil.

I might get a few single bottles of the insect remover and other things to try them at the same time.

John,

You can stick me down for one bottle please. I use Autoglym but am willing to try this stuff. Got fed up with the toothbrush as well.

Thanks Derek,

we are over the first case now (12 bottles), and well on the way to the 2nd case (makes the cost per bottle cheaper, as the delivery cost is spread over more people ).

The biggest problem I found with the Autoglym/Wonder Wheels stuff, is that it starts to dry in whilst you are only half way through cleaning the wheel.

I'll have 3 please.
I hate dirty wheels and can never be ased with the brush thing.

Cool

Russell - I've got half a bottle of Multiclean sitting in my garage. It seems to be OK for "lighter" brake dust deposits, but it wasn't much use at shifting the levels of brake dust normally found on my wheels

I did mention this to Mark at the time, and he kindly sent me up a stronger version of Mutliclean. This was a slight improvement, but still didn't give the results I wanted. Mark then sold me the P21-S stuff, and told me I wouldn't be disappointed with it, and I wasn't Unfortuantely, I don't think Mark can supply it any more.

Paul/Keith/Chris - orders noted

I'll pay for them myself on my credit card, and people can pay me when they collect them from me. As there are a few from the Edinburgh and Glasgow areas as well, I'll probably arrange to deliver your allocations to someone who you can collect frmo locally.

Looks like we have enough orders for three cases now!

Orders noted guys

Hopefully going to place the order later today, so it should be here by Monday/Tuesday at the latest.

If there's enough orders from the Glasgow area, then I'll get a case sent to one of you, and you can collect locally. Any volunteers ?

Hoping to have it all available for collection at the Wednesday meeting at Aberdeen, for those of you who are local.

Oops!

Seems we have caught the suppliers on the hop, and we have ordered more than twice what they currently have in stock.

They are about to order more from Germany, and takes about 7 days, so unfortunately won't be able to distribute on Wednesday evening after all.

I've ordered a few extra bottle to round thing up to the nearest case (5 cases of 12 bottles!), so if anyone else wants some, there are a few bottles going spare.

John

If I'm not too late...

I'd like:
1 x 500ml spray
1 x 1 litre refill

Any change of picking them up at Kames on the 27th / 28th?

Thanks

Rich

I must be busy at work to miss this

As with RichS, if you've got another bottle and refill combo, I'll collect at Kames too
