EVO 6 Traffic Cop Car spotted on M8 !
#1
Anyone else seen this ?
Spotted on M8 Eastbound between Harthill and Livingstone this morning at 8am
Wasn't quick enough to catch the registration or the police force it's being run by but looked like the markings of Strathclyde or Lothian police.
Scarey thought all the same !

Thankfully, I'm never up that early to get caught
Need to heep an eye out for that one since I go that way every morning on the way to work.
I bet that traffic cop is the envy of all those BMW/Volvo driving ones

very true !
... but imagine my surprise when I realised what I first thought were a rather tasteless set of driving lamps on the roof turned out to be those of the blue flashing variety !!!

"Don't worry m8 they'll run out of petrol before they get out of 2nd gear.......!"
Fuel consumption is the same as Scoobies and by second gear it will have overtaken you
RB5-Black
"Good job it's only an EVO, what if it had been a subaru"
If it had been a subaru then all the crooks would get away

Think you'll find that's not quite correct.... re fuel consumption or does EVO mag not know what it's talking about again!!
OK so I've only managed an average 16.7mpg over 9k miles but then I'll need to try and stop chasing these EVO speed cops thinking they're up for a race!
PS You'll find most EVO's fuel range's are considerably shorter than an Impreza's.

I have to admit EVO's do have smaller than normal fuel tanks
and I should know, I traded my MY97 Scooby in for an E5.
But before the cops have run out of petrol you will have been caught on their camera and probably nicked

The Evo is lothian borders Police and was parked on the grass outside the M/bushi dealers at Newbridge Lights this morning
Must be to catch the boy racers then, but if they let the copper who got first shot of the Merc they had it won't bother anyone very long. They spun it twice outside Almondvale shopping centre and nearly wrote it off only 3 hours on its first shift.
But it's high visibility lights and art deco means u can see the damn thing a mile away

Nad,
They do NOT have to prove you were the driver. If you fail to name the driver, then they can (and do) prosecute the registered keeper for the same offence. In any country where you had human rights, you would not be required to provide evidence against yourself. In the UK, you do!
If you think you can get away with it then give it a go
Happy Motoring!!

Spotted this morning on the road between Kirkliston and Newbridge. It's a X reg Evo 6.
Watched him in my rearview mirror blitz past a line of traffic and then tuck in right behind me. Very rapid!
We got to the traffic lights which were at red, I signalled right, he signalled left and pulled along side me. I couldn't see any signs of a camera in the windscreen but couldn't be sure.
However I did wonder if it was an Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) since the passenger was wearing a bullet proof vest. Must be very uncomfortable in those bucket seats.
