It was a real close run thing actually !
I had 2 runs against Keith
Run 1 Keith 12.148 Me 12.085
Run 2 Keith 12.040 Me 11.853
My reaction times were sightly quicker (more practice ) 60 foot launch times were very even. (Keith smoked his tyres and I smoked my clutch )
My car would pull away a few car lengths up to 3/4 distance then Keith would make up a litle bit at the end, crossing the line at 2 mph more than me (118 v 120) but still some 2 - 3 car lengths behind.
Keith had previously done a 11.946 which was his best of 8 runs on the day.
I'm sure if Keith worked on his launches, he could be quicker still and if I got a new clutch.............

11.85@118mph?
Crackin' result. Am i right in saying then that you've further improved the performance of the car since the inlet / uppipe mods were first done?

The good elapsed times come from a good launch. My clutch (std) will not transfer the new found torque from a standing start but will hold it through the gears. My 60 foot times used to be very consistant, yesterday they were all over the place as I tried to get the clutch to bite
The MPH at the end of the run is a better indicator of power. I'm up 3 mph on last time, which for my weight of car equates to approx 30 bhp
Adam - Yes, interesting bit 'sport' Could you hear my passenger screaming when I passed you
Alan - You got mail

I HAD A VERY GOOD DAY AT CRAIL WITH MY CAR BUT THE SINGLE PLATE CLUTCH RATED FOR ABOUT 400 BHP IS NOT UP TO THE 438 LBS OF TORQUE AND 542 BHP IT PUTS OUT.
A CLUTCH FOR GETTING THE 16OO KG SKYLINE FLYING IS GOING TO COST AROUND £1600 POUNDS AND I WILL NOT BE PAYING THAT OUT JUST TO DO 1/4 MILE TIMES.
WHEN THE CLUTCH COOLED DOWN IT WAS OK AGAIN
THAT IS SOME SCOOBY YOU HAVE THERE BIG RESPECT TO YOU AND YOUR CAR
ASK SAM AND ALAN HOW FAST MY CAR IS ON THE ROAD
PITY ITS NOT OVER A 1/2 MILE THEN I WOULD HAVE A CHANCE HE,HE..
THE AUDI WAS FAST TO.

No prob Russ
Need to get a run in that car of yours sometime Keith, I imagine it's a different 'kind' of power to the Scooby. With an 8000 rev limit it must feel like it's pulling forever !!!!

ANDY YOU ONLY HAD TO ASK
IF YOU ARE AT CRAIL AND I AM THERE IF IT IS NOT SOLD I WILL TAKE YOU FOR A RUN.
NOT GOING TO DRAG IT AGAIN THERE IS NO POINT OR I WILL HAVE TO FIT A NEW CLUTCH
IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING HAVING TO LIFT OFF BIG TIME TO SAVE THE CLUTCH WHEN CHANGING GEAR.

See? You should have bought my old STi Type R....revved to 8250rpm, and with 315bhp, you had enough grunt to put in decent 1/4 miles...Could even go skyline baiting...
Ross.
(New wheels ahoy! )
