Your pushing it as it is for a wrx on standard internals. Sti can do 450 (pushing it again) but not the wrx.

To be honest I'm not aware of anyone pushing stock WRX internals beyond around 340bhp. They're not designed for that kind of output.

It'll be a measure of Andy Forrest's mapping ability if your engine lasts any considerable length of time, in my opinion.

Harvey used to drag race with a 5 speed he was telling me once. Not sure of the spec though.

Bottom line though at 350bhp you're already on borrowed time with box!

My wrx is running 333bhp and I know of a few people who are running just over 350bhp but 400bhp I doubt it

What's your spec ?

Note We do not recommended level 4-5 on standard internals, clutch or gearbox. As a mimium we recommend forged pistons
and steel rods, steel head gaskets, uprated clutch. We also recommend either a PPG gear kit or 6 speed gearbox conversion ( from later STI)

You've got 386bhp mate, why do you want more than that?

To go higher most people with at least a handful of braincells to rub together find themselves an engine and drivetrain that'll actually cope with that kind of output for more than a few minutes.

If you want to throw more money at an eleven year old car designed for half the power output you're chasing you can start by uprating the brakes and suspension to match, if you haven't done so already.

IMO that's like leaving the house without shoes on it's not gunna happen

Why would you want to spend all that money and time then for your engine or gearbox to go bang ?

I'm not taking it serious at all I'm just failing to see why someone would do it knowing the risk

Yeah... thousands of pounds of mods on a low value car, not giving a toss if it eats the gearbox or the engine goes to ****.

Why not buy an STi in the first place and then start throwing the mods at it to reach the power output you're after?

It might just be me. Ive been doing drifting for 10 years now and we all know the risk of smashing in to each other blowing engine snapping boxs BUT we all know its the risk you take. If your not going to properly drive it WHY have?

its well possible to get 350+ from a wrx , no1 is doubting that, what they are doubting is ,will last long and i have to agree since ive been there. More power to you if you are the lucky 1 and the car holds up

lol

I remember I seen a impreza in halfords car park and naturally I went over to the fella in my
impreza to say hello and to have a look at his impreza.

Biggest mistake ever the guy was a a$$hat to say the least
was pure thinking he had a F1 car talking about how his WRX had 380 bhp with 420 torque on stock internals and gearbox
and giving it the " this is the scoob nobody wants to race "

All the time I was thinking that 5 speed gearbox is going to chew itself apart and the engine I doubt will last LOL

also saying about he has 2 imprezas a bug eye impreza as well and how he took it to a local tuner wallace performance
and then the thing blew up a day later and how he was taking them to court LOL probably pushed that past its limits too .

TBH if you want to push your impreza past its limits then go for it but chances are you will have a very pricey rebuild on your hands later on tho.

Dunx was running 450bhp on stock sti 2.0 newgae internals, until it blew up. Not heard of anyone running that on wrx. That's a lie actually, we heard plenty of halfords chav boys claiming to be running over 400bhp on stock engines, but none actually proved.

It's torque that will kill a gearbox not outright power. Theoretically I could run 600lb/ft on my 5 speed box all day if I drove like my mum. Pointless question really.
