If you are, so am I.

I used to drive round in an Escort Mexico with 4 Cibies, two up, two down, just like the rally cars...and guess what? I bet I was a damned sight quicker over dark roads than most folk in those days.

I remember Dave Godhead of Jap Innovations (remember them? :-D) had a similar set up on his car. To be honest it didn't look that offensive and by heck did it light up a dark road. Very effective for added visibility and as above vital for safe progress at pace on an unlit road.

I was going to reply something along the lines of, "tut, Kids"

I really feel sorry for 'the yoof' of today. Not having seen the real great cars and drivers in action. Group A, Group B and the full blown works Imprezas.

i know they do serve a purpose but still look quite funny to me! it looks like some kind of 4 way mirror image on the ebay one.
i'm 39 and do remember rallying of course but just not as garish as that.
they look much better on the escort and old mini.

Can't beat a MKII with a set of Cibies....

As we "oldies" will tell, lights are good, better lights are a win.....

Hella 1000FF's with HID are enough for a road car.

Hi, Alcazar hope you are well.... ( collecting parts for a oem-spec. rebuild of mine ! )

P.S. McRae didn't complain about them looking funny.....

Good point.

Subaru rally replicas are almost always poo.

Slaps some stickers on, mudflaps, fit a drain pipe for a exhaust and wahey I'm 'kin Colin Mcrae.

Acid dipped bodyshell? Nope
Seam welded? Nope
Blueprinted engine? Nope
Sequential gearbox? Nope
"real" Antilag? Nope

etc.

Replica my ****. Bit like teh light pods...yeah standard Scooby lights are crap, but these are a little extreme.

They arent some kind of Prada hand bag or fashion accessory they are meant to serve a purpose, in which case you'd be looking in the wrong direction.

Its a akin to road salt slow death to a bodyshell but without it the bodyshell would be a worse state wrapped round a tree due to a un salted road.

Yep...I had two Super Oscars, (later changed for Lucas Flarepaths, when one of the Supers got stone damage), on top, and two Oscars at the bottom, set crosswise. The Flarepaths were marginally better than Cibies and used an H3 bulb IIRC.

I also had one of the ONLY sets of Cibie Biodes I've ever seen...A 7" headlight with TWO H1 bulbs, one for main beam, which was set in a little relector all it's owbn, and one for dip. Brilliant.

Well, I'm hanging on still ! Searching for bargain bits, but the gas/electric bill just landed so that's done for ! ( No LoL )

I used to have a pair of Cibie Bi-Oscars a Super Oscar with a biode style light unit... till some pikey nicked them.

You have to see tools as suitable for purpose, or buy a pretty thing that looks nice- Apple products for example.

I believe I know the seller, well from the location anyway. These are for rally use and the seller is a top guy. He worked as a laminator for TVR and now has his own business. Whilst I'd not put it past the chav crowd to put these on a sport etc, it's not what they're about!
