Surely you should be expecting the worst when travelling to see a car with a known failure, especially when these things are famous for being a little fragile and also know to be thrashed by less than sympathetic owners?

The market is full of nobbers trying it on Ryan, I've seen some right dogs for sale recently. I wouldn't travel more than an hour to see a car these days for that reason.

Better to get hold of a minter in good nick and pay the premium, far less hassle. All IMHO of course.

Someone will either get mugged or the seller will have to let it go for a song.

If it's not sold in a few weeks make him a derisory offer and get a new engine in it!
